4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUL 4, 2003 My fifth-favorite wheat. Even beats the Weihenstephaner Hefeweisse. Very wheaty, with a hint of sourness.

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2003 My favorite hefe-weizen. Cloudy brownish blond. Lots of yeast. Spices throughout. Perfect amount of hops. Hint of lemon/sourness. VERY refreshing. HIGHLY recommended hefe-weizen.

The epitome of a great German wheat. Clove and banana character from yeast very noticable. Hops (Hallertau?) well balanced for style Excellent with a slice of lemon.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Compared this side-by-side with Hacker Kristall. On the whole, this was less sedate and livelier than the kristall. Definitely spicier, fruitier and more bittered. Mildly grassy tasting, with a fresh non-musky aroma. Cloudy, peach-gold with a huge, granular head. Satisfying palate which doesn’t linger.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
I recently tried this beer side by side with Paulaner Hefe-Weizen. While it wasn’t as satisfyingly cloudy it actually faired better than Paulaner taste wise. It had the appropriate wheaty bannana clove smell and tasted less alcoholic than the Paulaner.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JUL 27, 2003 Cloudy hazy yellow color, with a huge fluffy white head that sticks around for awhile. Light banana-clove aromas, has a tart wheaty, yeasty flavors, light to medium body, crisp mouthfeel, has a nice clean and crisp citrus finish, this is one of my favorite unfiltered wheats

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This beer poured a cloudy light tan color with some carbonation present. This helped to create a white, very foamy head that looked like a float when it subsided and left some lace. The aroma was of hops and some citrus and clove. The flavor was of hops, lemon-citrus with wheat. The finish was tangy, almost sour. A good beer, though I still prefer some others more than this one.

Excellent. Satisfying, not overly drinkable due to the alcohol content. Try it with lemon.
