Had numerous times. Pours hazy golden with fluffy white head. Aroma is bready and wheat. Flavor is bready with hits of citrus and spices. Not a big fan of hefewizens but this one is pretty good.

next to franziskaner, my #1 session beer. reeks of typical weizen aromas. i feel my low rating is unfair considering how much of this i drink, but im trying to keep it all in perspective. far from the world’s greatest weizen, but one of the best available mainstream in america.

Pours super foamy white head and clear orange color. Very very doughy aroma and taste. Some banana and lemon zest as well. Had this and paulaner weise within a day of one another and paulaner was much much better. If you have the similar choice, pass on this one.

Cloudy gold with very good, foamy white head / Light nose of citrus and spice / Medium body, watery, with fast fading finish / Weak flavors of orange, banana, and spice / Mediocre.

Before trying this beer, Franziskaner was probably my favorite wheat beer. The Hacker-Pschorr poured cloudy orange with a thick, white head. Super flowery-sweet aroma with a hint of tropical fruits that really gets me excited to taste this beer. The flavor lives up to the aroma’s billing- fabulous, complex and fruity, I tasted some trace apple along with the strong banana/lemon flavor that dominates the beer. This is probably the best hefeweizen I’ve ever had, the more I drink it the more it grows on me. Update (06.28.08) - Really fantastic, satisfying brew. Anybody asking for a summer beer? This is your beverage. Far and away the best hefeweizen I’ve ever had- the little things raise it above and beyond Paulaner. Try it

This hefe has too little orange and coriander, and too much sugar and alcohol in the aroma. Nice cloudy orange color. Big white frothy head. The start shows a lot of promise but as I drink I feel like the deep complex hefeweizen flavor is missing. The finish is the same way. Just a little lacking. Still not a bad beer. I’d just choose a different one, like Franziskaner, if I had the choice.

12oz bottle; pours a cloudy tan color, taste of wheat, barley and perhaps some apples, very good
