wcampbell (572), Central, South Carolina, USA Dec 6, 2007 Great, really full bodied for a hefeweizen. Wheaty flavor with light citrus, yeast, and spice as well. Nice complexity. Highly drinkable. Lightly sweet finish. cking (1012), North Canton, Ohio, USA Nov 30, 2007 Single from the local shop produced on "07.06" if that means what I think it means this has held up rather well. Fresh aroma of mild banana, wheat, and clove. Typical scent for the style and real nice. Cloudy orange pour with a medium sized white head and decent lacing. Cloudy beer from the yeast swirl, vibrant and bright when held to the light. Medium body, not as creamy as I like my hefe’s to be. Filling with a nice finish, very clean. Flavor mimics the aroma, solid wheat content dry and refreshing. Banana and spicy clove. Typical for the style, nice enjoyable beer here. ux04 (30), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA Nov 29, 2007 Not too heavy, not too light, excellent variation of flavors on the palate. Fruity, wheat, and spice. Very delicious. Nice and cloudy. Recommendable. robforbes (1083), Bremerton, Washington, USA Nov 24, 2007 purchased at puget sound wine cellar in port orchard, washington.
pour is a cloudy golden-sunshine yellow with a three finger white head, bit of sediment swimming around in the pond also, head has good stamina, excellent lacing.
smell is wheat, yeast, touch of citrus, banana.
taste is banana, wheat, lemon, bread dough, touch of spice.
overall a really nice hefe. bigcat03 (191), Lincoln, Nebraska, USA Nov 17, 2007 Brought back from Germany and poured into a weizen glass on 08-11-07. A cloudy medium gold color with a 2 finger off white head. Coriander, clove, lemon, wheat, banana, and a grainy aroma at first at the nose. Banana, lemon, malt, a little clove, a little spice, and a big wheat note to the taste buds. Aftertaste has Wheat, very light citrus sweetness of orange, and light coriander. A smooth medium body and medium carbonation. A great hefe! This ranks up there with Weihenstephaner. Points for the flip top bottle. Not overly sweet like so many hefes that I tried with over in Europe. drfabulous (1212), Columbia, Missouri, USA Nov 13, 2007 Solid German hefe. Spring drinking at its best. It gets harder and harder to drink American wheats. The Germans stay true to the cause. dmac (1420), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Nov 11, 2007 16.9 oz bottle. Pours a super hazy orange with an ample white frothy head that quickly rejuvinates with some agitation. Aroma of wheat grass, lemon, slight corriander and yeast. LIght body with a slight watery feel and for the ample head the carbonation is light. Citrus flavor with notes of wheat and grass. very pleasant and quaffable. BrianHagmeier (257), Coralville, Iowa, USA Nov 8, 2007 Updated: May 12, 2008On tap at the Sanctuary in Iowa City.I think I might have to try this beer another dozen times to be sure about my rating. Typical hefe in look, aroma and palate but the flavor is incredible. It tastes like a meadow on a beautiful spring day. Enough said.
