rwgould (58), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 2, 2007 0.5l bottle. Pours an opaque honey-golden brown. Solid head that lingers. Looks really good. Smells very fruity and sweet. Palate is quite smooth and feels very refreshing. Tastes strongly of cloves and bananas. Really nice. Rune (2744), Tromsø, Norway Oct 2, 2007 500ml tap-beer and then 500ml on bottle. Hazy orange coloured under a filmy layer. Fragile aroma of clove and wheat. The taste is a blend of sappy oranges and sweet, overripe banana. Dry ending. One of the better weizen I have tasted, but still a bit too sweet (Trier, 13th and 15th September 07). DruncanVeasey (2690), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England Sep 30, 2007 Tasted back to back with Weihenstephaner. Silky, steadily fizzing apricot trumpet with a nibble of grain. Stillish and smooth. Heady banana perfume, sourish wood and citrus. Thickly blanketed with persistent froth. Touches of cabbage and smoke in the aroma. Distant toffee apple fruitiness. Wheat and malt in unusually equal measure. Lovely, treacherously mellow Hefe. IrishBoy (2685), Bakersfield, California, USA Sep 26, 2007 500ml label Weisse; Nose of banana and wheatiness; hazy yellowish-copper with a medium white head; flavor of banana, clovey spices, and some sweetness; mouthfeel is tingly and body is medium. Good Hefe! Bradrcr (778), Renton, Washington, USA Sep 25, 2007 9/22/07 On draught at Barca, Seattle. Aroma is classic for the style with clove notes forward. Appearance is hazy yellow with a good white head. Flavor is very light with a low sweet/sour wheat character defining; there’s very low ester or phenol character here. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a creamy texture and low carb feel. Overall, this is just a bit heavier and round than it should be, but seems to be the right flavor. A hazy golden ale with a light head. Served in a proper glass this was a great weisse beer. Strong fruity essence and lots of wheat flavor. This was bitter in the finish and the overall beer was very strong flavored. Very earthy. This was a decent beer not my fav. DownsouthGav (602), Greater London, England Sep 23, 2007 Oktoberfest @ Coach & Horses, Greenwich from cask - fragrant nose, cloudy gold hue, light in body, no carbonation, sweet after taste with some bitterness. Nice. ehroyal (10), USA Sep 22, 2007 A very smooth beer, some hint of fruitiness and clove, one of my favorites.
