500ml bottle. Pours a nice hazy orange colour with a lot of white head. Aroma of yeast, wheat, a tiny touch of citrus, malty. Tastes strongly of yeast/wheat, with some delicious malts. This is one of my go-to beers, and probably my favourite hefe that’s readily available to me, but the only thing that I take away points for is the slight over-carbonation that distracts a little bit from the taste, and also makes the mouth-feel a little rougher. Other than that this is definitely an awesome brew!

Artificial bubblegum style banana on the nose. Looks delicious while and quickly after pouring with nice sparkling orangy body and yellowish pearly head, but quickly goes down to being just dirty and no head. Smooth and fruity. I’m doing a head to head with alcoholfrei Erdinger and for some reason I prefer the Erdinger!

Bottle. Nice white head and nose typical of German weissbier. Smooth tasting and well-rounded example of the style. Can’t really put my finger on any one outstanding characteristic but a good beer all the same.

I had just sat down into a deep leather couch with a the orange-amber H-P Weisse in 50cl glass and I just inhaled it for a moment. It resonated with banana and vanilla aromas, which I found to be normal for the kind of beer it is. The first taste was very memorable as the cream elements just came together with slight edges of hops to make them sparkle. Great beer. I doubt I could tell the difference between this and Paulaner or Franiskaner, but I am left wondering, as usual, what it’s like on tap, and then dreaming about a cask.

Bottle. Orange blonde, cloudy. Banana and lemon in the aroma. Sweetish flavor with banana, lemon and yeast. Pleasant enough, without being spectacular.

5/22/2007: Hacker-Pschorr Weisse pours a cloudy, deep golden color with a large, dense, creamy beige head that leave foamy, abstract lacing on the glass. The aroma is primarily wheat. The flavor is creamy butterscotch, wheat, banana, and a hint of caramel in the finish. Medium-bodied and creamy. Another nice German Hefeweizen.

On draft at Max’s Allegheny Inn-Cloudy golden color with a decent head, aroma of sweet malts, sweet flavor of wheat without the estery fruity flavors like most weisse beers, very satisfying

Drank on tap from Phil’s in Saugatuck with an orange slice on the side of the glass. Poured a cloudy haze with a small head and smelled great. Great taste that I would expect from a wheat beer with some strong banana flavor. Refreshing and smooth, I thought that this was a great example of a hefeweizen and I would definitely drink it again if I had the opportunity.
