| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Apr 24, 2007 Pours a hazy golden yellow, with a about a cm of white creamy froathy head. Freshly poured the beer has a strong aroma of banana, as the beer settles the aroma gains strong notes of wheat. The flavor is sweet, and spicy with notes of banana, the carbonation is good, medium bodied, with a creamy finish. A pretty decent beer. ilovedarkbeer (1333), Dallas, Texas, USA

Pours a nice golden color with low carbonation and a nice think fluffy white head. Greaty wheaty taste that goes down smooth and has a medium finish. Overall very good for a hefeweizen but no hops and a bit watery. MontereyJimbo (79), Monterey, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 23, 2007 Another weizen that advertises that it brews according to the Rheinheitsgebot, the Purity Law of 1516. It pours a cloudy orange with a nice fluffy ivory colored head. The carbonation was fairly light, and the nose was light to medium on the esters. The taste was medium on the wheatiness and for the first time I noticed the clove taste I hear many raters talking about with weizenbiers. This is another really good weizenbier from Bavaria where they know how to do it. Mart (211), Montréal, Quebec, Canada

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Apr 11, 2007 My most recent sample of this beer came on draught at Ludwig’s Biergarten, in Philadelphia, PA. Pours to a hazy, deep golden color, with a tall, thick, rocky, white head, and a vibrant carbonation. The nose on this beer is excellent with aromas of spicy clove, grainy wheat, and fruity esters of bannana and pear. The palate is firm, with excellent, grainy and tart wheat malt flavor, paired with estery fruity flavors of green apple and pear. This beer finishes with more thirst quenching, tart wheat flavor up front, then ends with some spicy clove flavor that lingers. It is hard to go wrong with a classic German example of Bavarian hefeweizen, and this beer is a classic. A perfect match to a number of German dishes on Ludwig’s menu. I enjoyed this one with a spicy cup of goulash, followed by an outstading meal of saurbraten, red cabbage, and spatezl.
