crushinat0r (227), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 15, 2007 Nice thick white head fruity and sweet smelling, typical weiss colouring. Sweet, fruity, slight banana taste.. but also a bit metallic. An OK white beer. rocbyter (902), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Feb 14, 2007 Nose has fruit somewere between apricot and apple. Hazy golden color with a dense head that doesn’t last long. Has a bite that is hidden between a smooth start and finish locarboy (115), USA Feb 11, 2007 12 oz bottle. Aroma is citrusy and yeasty. I swirled the dregs of the bottle into my weizen beir glass so the appearance is a cloudy goldeness. It looks okay, nothing out of the ordinary. Nice big fluffy head is to style. The head lingers approapriately. The flavor is lemony with a tilt toward the wheat malt. I want more from the yeast characteristics. Rather one dimentional. I’m not getting any tilt toward banana or clove. You definately don’ t need a slice of lemon in this one. Save the lemon for the crystal weizen. I like other hefe weizen better than this one, but it’ll do when the others aren’t available. I know a lot of weizen neophytes like this one. roccotool (25), USA Jan 22, 2007 Bottle. Aroma-light and fruity. Appearance-pours orangish-brown, with a decent head. Flavor-malty and full-bodied; a great taste for a hefe-weizen. Finish is crisp, making it a quaffable drink. I’ll be sure to try other styles they make, for this is surely made with a lot of attention. . themightyomega (82), New York, USA Jan 21, 2007 Bottle. Pours orange, white head. Aroma of banana, orange, whiffs of spice, smells like some marvelously decadent pastry. And the taste? The best hefe I’ve had yet, creamy smooth, just the right balance between sweet and tart, no hint of bitterness, oranges, banana, yeast, even my friend S who usually likes his beers as bitter as a thrice-jilted lover, pronounced this one "quality". RedHaze (370), Where the hell am I?, Nebraska, USA Jan 14, 2007
Produced on date of 08/05.
Pours a hazy pale orange/gold color with a half inch head, slowly receding to a thin cap that leaves a nice webbing of lace.
Smell; fruity, with bananas and oranges. There’s a bit of cloves and the yeast and wheat you expect in a hefe-weizen.
Taste; nice yeasty bread dough at first and then those oranges and bananas really jump out at you, especially the bananas. Towards the finish this has a very nice spicy bite to it that kind of balances out the bready qualities. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation, and so very drinkable. LAC2007 (17), Edgewater, New Jersey, USA Jan 9, 2007 A cloudy, golden yellow colored body that as a wonderful banana and clove aroma. The banana and clove flavors are initially apparent and then followed by a nice citrusy flavor. Overall this is my favorite hefeweizen beer. CigarsLoveBeer (153), Illinois, USA Jan 3, 2007 Good cloudy body. Right amout of head for style. Lots of banana and clove in the aroma. Hints of citrus, some other types of tangyness. Flavors include citrus, banana, lemon. Very crisp. Very little finish. Some lingering clove flavor in the fine finish.
