mtdshn (174), Moline, Illinois, USA Aug 26, 2006 Bottle. Poured a nice golden orange with a fairly large foamy head. Scents of wheat, yeast, some sourness. Taste is smooth with some smoky notes, with a slight citrus bite. Nice mouthfeel. pivnizub (4949), Bochum, Porúří, Germany Aug 25, 2006 Bottle: Orangey coloured, hazy, medium-sized creamy head; citrus-fruity, a bit yeasty nose; sweetish flavour, covering a bit of sourness, medium bodied, soft MF, light oily texture; zesty, fruity finish with a light tartness. A very pleasant, well rounded - almost "clove-free" - Weizen ! jcr (1136), Jasper, Indiana, USA Aug 24, 2006 Hazy golden-yellow beer with thin, disappearing white head. The aroma is average in intensity and filled with grain and straw malts, grassy hops, dough, banana, citrus and apple. Nicely sweet for a hefe with a light bitterness at the finish. The beer presents more grain as it warms. The palate was clean with fizzy carbonation. Solid wheat beer. kseecs16 (865), Naperville, Illinois, USA Aug 24, 2006 Bottle. Poured a cloudy gold with a thick off-white head. Smells of sweet clove and banana with a noticable malt sweetness. Not too sweet upfront with a light flavor of spicy clove and a touch of bitterness in the finish. Slightly watery, and feels foamy and smooth in the mouth. TechMyst (166), Fox River Grove, Illinois, USA Aug 10, 2006 500 ml bottle. Very grainy and sweet. Feels like I’m drinking Pilsbury Grands (TM) and bananas. Medium mouthfeel. I have just the Weisse, but could not find just the wheat on this database. Can’t say I’m a fan of this style. Very Soapy in the middle. troyc (1173), Lubbock, Texas, USA Aug 8, 2006 (0.5L Bottle) Pours hazy gold with large head. Tastes of citrus, cloves, and bananas. Great tasting and refreshing brew. TheJester (694), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Aug 5, 2006 Pours cloudy amber/gold with medium head. Very strong-scented beer, with banana, yeast, a bit of citrus. More citrus in the taste. A bit of clove and pepper. A little hoppy bitter in the mouth, but sweetens in the finish. Solid, but not outstanding in every category. Very drinkable. AlKHall (161), West Hartford, Connecticut, USA Aug 5, 2006 On tap @The Griffin (Battle Creek) cloudy gold with a decent head. Initial taste is wheat andyeast. Starts out very doughy. This becomes more fruity with hints of bananna and strong lemon. Carbonation is robust, mildly bitter. Well balanced - overall : excellent Hefe.
