Bottle. Poured a cloudy light yellowish brown with an average sized creamy white head that lasted throughout and had excellent lacing. The aroma was of strawlike malts and an earthy yeast with citrus and banana undertones. It tasted mildly sweet with notes of citrus and a mild banana flavor in the beginning and stayed about the same throughout with the finish being very yeasty with the flavor lingering around for an average amount of time. Mouthfeel was light to medium in body and very creamy in texture with a nice soft carbonation. Overall a nice solid wheat beer, perfect with a slice of lemon.

Bottle from Wine Emporium 290315. Pours with a big ice cream head that is thick, looks like shaving cream in a glass. Cloudy yet vibrant orange sunrise colour. Sweet and fruity in the nose with banana and melon coming through. Fills the mouth with a big banana sweetness. Thick bodied with a nice aftertaste. Head takes a while to settle. Great example of the style and I would expect nothing less from a German Hefeweizen breqed in Germany. Classy bottle with a swing top lid.

Bready banana, honey, and lemon nose, not like banana bread, but more like good dinner rolls with banana accents. Hazy amber, thick head, good lacing. Traditional bready banana notes, but with a nice presence of honey that isn’t altogether common for the style. Medium body, light carbonation. Exemplary, consistent, accessible, and affordable.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 15A). Bottle 50 cl - Batch L18941V. AROMA: wheat aroma with notes of vanilla, clove with a slight bubblegum and citric note. APPEARANCE: dark gold color and slightly hazy. large moussy white head with below average retention. TASTE: wheat flavour with notes similar to the aromas (clove, vanilla, bubblegum and some faint banana). low bitterness with a semi-sweet finish. PALATE: medium-light body with high carbonation. OVERALL: an average weizen.

Bottle, 50cL. Home. A brown-orange beer ; light opaque ; big white creamy head ; good retention. No lacing. Aroma of banana, pear, clove, light biscuit, grain. Light sweet, light bitter, refreshing. Medium body, smooth texture, good carbonation, medium sweet spicy finish. Overall, a refreshing pleasant hefeweizen ; classic.

Nose is strongly barley with hints of grain as it pours. It settles into yeast and a sweet note of caster sugar. Very slight banana and cloves emerges; all a little bland. Taste is cream, banana, a hint of candy floss, slight cloves, banana milkshake, a little spice, cereal yeast. Mouthfeel is quite full but there is a thinness in the finish. It’s an alright beer, which has some strong notes, but it never seems to get out of third gear.

Best by 04.2014. Poured from a pint bottle into a weizen glass on 01.31.14. A: Orange. Opaque at top because of the yeast cloud. See through at bottom. 2 finger head. S: Orange, clove. T: Banana, orange, spicy clove. M: Creamy smooth. O: This is a Paulaner cousin. (Hacker-Pschorr and Paulaner are owned by Heineken). It has a bit more banana flavor than Paulaner’s hef, otherwise, it’s almost a clone. It’s a fantastic hef. The flavors are strong, which I prefer. Excellent.
