Draft pint. Clear amber with a small ring of foam. Nose is honey, dry grass, and caramel orange. Flavor is earthy honey comb, slight caramel apple and orange, and dry grass. Medium bodied with low-medium carbonation and to the sweet side, with just a touch of alcohol showing.

Tap at Busters on 28th. Yellow gold pour with a white head, probably thanks to the tulip glass. Aroma of pale malts and grain. Taste is light malt and slightly fruity. Not bad.

On draft. Pours a clear pale golden with a small white head that stays and laces. Bread dough aroma with mild spice. Taste is smooth and fluffy with sweet pale malt, more bread dough and a slight hop bitterness. Good for the style.

On tap sat outside Gasthof Fraundorfer, Garmisch-Parrenkirchen, Bavaria, Germany 28th May 2012 I understood that this was Paulener Maibock, it was certainly a Maibock in a Paulaner, so this looks the nearest most likely match. Pours copper wuth medium large white frothy head, stunningly clear. Some grain on nose and a slightly sweetish waft. Quite thick in the mouth the alcohol is noticeable, but there is a steady bitterness also apparent in this beer. Enjoyable but you can tell that is fiercesome stuff. Btw great pub that I had this at, very, very Bavarian in feel with even young lads dressed in full regalia. A6 A5 T8 P4 Ov14 3.7

Draft. Pours clear gold with a white head. Light bready sweet aroma with grain and light flowery notes. The flavor is grainy, with light mineral-like notes and some bready sweetness. Not bad.

On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., dispensed to a dimpled mug with a clear, bright golden hue, average retention to the soft white, frothy head, and waves & spots of lacing. The nose presented a typical lager scent, with light grain, Pils malt, and light noble hints. The flavor added low bitterness, just a hint of honey-like sweetness, lively carbonation, medium body, subtle warmth, and a pleasant dryness that promoted a clean, crisp nature. Nothing flashy, but very quaffable.

On tap. Poured golden to light amber. Smelled malty, but only faintly so. Some bready, malty flavors with a touch of grain and caramel. Not what I expect in a bock at all. Disappointing.

Tap labeled as Hacker-Pschorr Mai Bock On tap at Westover Beer Haus in Arlington, VA. Clear pale amber straw with good lacing. Aroma: subtle Aroma of grainy malt and crackers. Some sweetness. Hops not noticeable. Taste: Interesting malt profile of grain, caramel and toasted bread. Noticable bitterness at the finish. Slightly metallic finish that disappeared as the beer warmed. Body is moderately light, with a moderate amount of carbonation. Fine example of the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
