Bottled&Draught. White creamy foam, mostly to full diminishing. Yellow to pale golden body, clear. The usual intense sweet malt aroma and light flowery of many industrial pale bock. Weak fruity aftertaste. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter. Medium to full body, creamy-sirupy texture, light alcoholic feel. It is not a very exciting beer. The unfiltered draught version I drunk in Bavaria was more interesting: clean hoppy notes, full aroma and flavor of malt, weak fragrance of fresh fruity (apples). Unfiltered Hubertus: 7,3,7,4,13

Draft. Pours clear gold with a white head. Light bready sweet aroma with grain and light flowery notes. The flavor is grainy, with light mineral-like notes and some bready sweetness. Not bad.

tmoreau (1356) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - APR 27, 2012
On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., dispensed to a dimpled mug with a clear, bright golden hue, average retention to the soft white, frothy head, and waves & spots of lacing. The nose presented a typical lager scent, with light grain, Pils malt, and light noble hints. The flavor added low bitterness, just a hint of honey-like sweetness, lively carbonation, medium body, subtle warmth, and a pleasant dryness that promoted a clean, crisp nature. Nothing flashy, but very quaffable.

On tap. Poured golden to light amber. Smelled malty, but only faintly so. Some bready, malty flavors with a touch of grain and caramel. Not what I expect in a bock at all. Disappointing.

Tap labeled as Hacker-Pschorr Mai Bock On tap at Westover Beer Haus in Arlington, VA. Clear pale amber straw with good lacing. Aroma: subtle Aroma of grainy malt and crackers. Some sweetness. Hops not noticeable. Taste: Interesting malt profile of grain, caramel and toasted bread. Noticable bitterness at the finish. Slightly metallic finish that disappeared as the beer warmed. Body is moderately light, with a moderate amount of carbonation. Fine example of the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This poured a darker orange color almost amber with an off white head. Aroma was of dusty and grassy hops, some bready notes and caramel. Flavor was a bit sweeter than expecting, not hops at all, but nothing offensive either.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2012 On tap: Poured a hazed, burnished gold lager in the glass. large puffy cap laced well. Softl carbonation. Aroma of sweet Munich pale malt, noble woodyness, some mustyness and hints of spicel. Tastes like it smells - like a rich Munich helles but a bit sweeter and boozier with more hallertau presense. Verry rounded and drinkable. Not a bad commercial Maibock but local craafters have made better.
