“Munich Gold” closely resembles our Münchner Hell in terms of taste and mainly owes its popularity to a slightly higher original gravity and the malty note. The result is a full-bodied yet mild taste which delivers an increasingly bitter note before culminating into an aromatic finish. A real treat for true beer connoisseurs!

The types of barley grown in the Swabian Jura and in the Upper Palatinate Region of Bavaria are excellently suited for the production of this timeless classic.

Hacker-Pschorr has been brewing beer in the traditional Bavarian manner since 1417. The high-quality beers the brewery produces are all brewed in accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law and contain only water, malt and hops.

500 ml bottle. Pale gold, perfectly clear, with a huge, creamy and persistent bright white head. Good lacing. On the nose dough, white bread, little graininess, some earthy/spicy hop notes. Starts moderately sweet, but you can feel a decent malty bitterness which become more prominent in the end. Again quite grainy and bready in the taste as well. Little metallic perception in the aftertaste. Average carbonation, light to medium body, creamy texture. Forgettable, but certainly refreshing and thirst quenching, if not miles better compared to a generic macro lager.

500ml bottle purchased at the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario. Clear golden in colour with a thin dissipating white head, very light lacing. Aroma is of cereal, grains, some grassy hops, toasted pale malts. Flavour is lightly sweet, a bit dirty, wheat and grass. Sweet mouthfeel, light body, moderate carbonation. Finishes fairly quick, a little thin. Basic but nothing really wrong with it, just a bit boring.

Bottle at The Chequers, Walthamstow. Pale gold with low carbonation. A very soft, gentle flavour compared to some lagers - no metallic bitterness, easy to drink.

Elléggé letisztult, sima, buboréktalan. Papírízű, méghozzá markáns kartonpapír. Kicsit a wernesgürnerhez hasonlítanám de mindenképp elkülönül tőle.

500ml bottle. 09/14. Pours a pale gold colour with a frothy white head, which lasted well and left a suggestion of lacing. Gentle aroma of sweet malt and straw. Medium sweetness with a delicate, spicy, bitter finish. Medium body and a very smooth mouthfeel. Goes down very easily.
