“Munich Gold” closely resembles our Münchner Hell in terms of taste and mainly owes its popularity to a slightly higher original gravity and the malty note. The result is a full-bodied yet mild taste which delivers an increasingly bitter note before culminating into an aromatic finish. A real treat for true beer connoisseurs!

The types of barley grown in the Swabian Jura and in the Upper Palatinate Region of Bavaria are excellently suited for the production of this timeless classic.

Hacker-Pschorr has been brewing beer in the traditional Bavarian manner since 1417. The high-quality beers the brewery produces are all brewed in accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law and contain only water, malt and hops.

500mL swing-top bottle BBE: 07/16. Well-chilled (approx. 4 degrees). Pours a crystal clear amber body with medium, lasting, tight, off-white head. On the nose, medium intensity, sweet, bready malt aromas, vanilla, yeast and spice. A medium, sugary sweetness is partly counteracted by a light bitterness. Medium-bodied with a sticky texture, medium carbonation and a lingering, sweet cereal finish. Rather more wort-like than an accomplished beer, but definitely not a typical, straightforward lager.

Clean sweet and bready aroma and taste with just a tiny bit of bite to it. Smoother than expected as well. Not great, but enjoyable.

It’s lager day so decided to find something I never tried. It’s actually very clean and smooth. Wife liked it also. Very good for the style.

Rating #1269 -04.10.2014. German beer event at Devine. Bold golden pour with a thick, white foam, decent retention. Aroma is strong malty sweetness, caramel, ripe fleshy fruits, cereal grains, mild grassiness. Taste is boldly hopped for a lager, lots of earthy notes, but balance is quite impressive. Crisp, refreshing, and smooth tasting.

Bottle, 01/16. Pils honey sweetness. Herbal hops noticeable, not as prominent as a Pilsner. Light old world barn malt taste. Well balanced where sweetness is kept in check with mild hop bitterness, ivory, green leaf. No big lingering taste, very drinkable.
