The pleasure of yesteryear
Velvety matte shine – Smooth, full-bodied flavor
Munich Kellerbier Anno 1417 shines with a seductive golden honey color. A beer with a distinctive character: earthy, bold, quaffable and yet refreshingly mild and light. Just like a real Bavarian.

Creamy and effervescent, typical of unfiltered beers, a delightful ticklish mouthfeel. Aromas of caramel, honey and plum dominate and emphasize the beer’s malty, spicy flavor. Unmistakable hints of apple and grapefruit bring in a fruity freshness.

Our Munich Kellerbier, a beer like from the good old days when beer was born. After aging four weeks, it is bottled unfiltered, which still preserves all its yeast vitamins and trace elements.

Since 1417, Hacker Pschorr stands for traditional Bavarian brewing. The quality beers of Hacker-Pschorr are all brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law and contain only hops, malt and water. 12.5°

Hazy orange colour with a small white head. Aroma is malty with a orange citric note. Taste is sweet malt, with some spiced herbal notes. Medium palate.

Pours hazy light yellow with medium white head. Nose is bready with a bit of grass. Taste is literally like liquid bread and reminds me very much of shortbread. Very smooth but quite watery. Slightly bitter aftertaste. I’ve had this quite often and sometimes it can be rough, overcarbonated and without the beautiful dominant breadyness. But when it’s right it’s quite a treat, like biting into a cookie. A favourite of mine!

Bottle. Looks like a hefeweizen. Aroma is light malty and a bit yeasty. Taste is somewhat bland and containing some vegetable hints that I don’t like. But my bottle is 3 months old - it is probably tastier when served fresh.

Lovely cloudy amber yellow, small head, delicate lacing. Aromas of malt, citrus, notes of dried fruit. Subtle carbonation, watery mouthfeel. The taste is malty and fruity, the finish is watery and bland just before the hops kick in. This would be a great beer, but the wateriness in the finish is just too jarring. Still, it’s good and easy to drink.

Bought Aral gas station, Southern Germany: 50cl bottle. Unclear orange with a white bubbly head. Malts & fruits. Ok mouthfeel & taste. Fine lacings. Hoppy notes - slight bitter-fresh & crisp. An unfiltered lager - A very nice one!

Draught @ Oluthuone Kaisla, Helsinki. Poured hazy yellow/golden color with a thick white head. Very weizen like in both look and flavor. Aroma is malt, with some slightly lemony notes, earthy. Flavour is slightly sweet with wheat and malt. End is a tad bitter. Refreshing, easy to drink.

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2013 Bottle0.5 swing top bottle. Initially pours clear then it colors up to bright orange with yeast in suspension, nice foamy head. Lots of yeast remains at the bottle’s bottom. Crude aroma, extremely low carbonation. Fruity taste, farly thick body, yeasty, earthy, quite sweet.
KegTasted this several times from 20L barrel-like "party-keg", on a hot day of fishing, kept cold in fresh spring water. An absolute delice, intense orange, less thick, very low gas, a pleasure.

Enjoyed multiple times from these kegs, always lovely. Somewhat in between a helles and a weizen. Took spicy notes and smoothness from a weizen and the drinkability of a good helles. One of the best zwick’l around.
