The pleasure of yesteryear
Velvety matte shine – Smooth, full-bodied flavor
Munich Kellerbier Anno 1417 shines with a seductive golden honey color. A beer with a distinctive character: earthy, bold, quaffable and yet refreshingly mild and light. Just like a real Bavarian.

Creamy and effervescent, typical of unfiltered beers, a delightful ticklish mouthfeel. Aromas of caramel, honey and plum dominate and emphasize the beer’s malty, spicy flavor. Unmistakable hints of apple and grapefruit bring in a fruity freshness.

Our Munich Kellerbier, a beer like from the good old days when beer was born. After aging four weeks, it is bottled unfiltered, which still preserves all its yeast vitamins and trace elements.

Since 1417, Hacker Pschorr stands for traditional Bavarian brewing. The quality beers of Hacker-Pschorr are all brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law and contain only hops, malt and water. 12.5°

500 ml bottle. BBE 04/2012.
Pours a yellow colour with a white frothy head. Aroma of grassy hops and bread. Flavour of bread-like malts, fruits, light grains, floral hops and some herbs. Medium bodied, smooth mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Light bitter, fruity, floral and malty finish. This would probably rock even more when fresh.

50 cl bottle, Sheffield, UK via The Dram Shop. Pours hazy gold, thick head that totally disappears. Musty peach aroma, truly keller aroma, with some bright spiced hops in the background. Bittersweet taste, then a vanilla honey basement flavour. Orange-rind hops emerge on the finish.

Cloudy straw colour. Grassy aroma, slight banana aroma, hint of lemon. Bready. Flavor is mostly grass and wheat. Finish is dry and bitter. Kind of a wheaty pilsner feel to it. Interesting but not really my thing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. It looks a treat - hazy gold with a generous head and lacing. The classic crisp, yeasty, citric, morish, delicious taste we’ve come to expect from Kellerbiers. Not quite my favourite of The Big Six Munich bräus as it doesn’t quite do as much for the palate as, say, a Paulaner but this is still excellent stuff.

Bottle from Peckhams. Pours a slightly hazy golden colour with a fair white head. Nice yeasty, grassy nose with an earthy mustiness. Tasty mushroom soup flavour with yeast, earth and some vegetal characteristics. Mild carbonation and a little CO2 prickle. Nice kellerbier.

50cl bottle: Hazy, light orange appearance. Noticeably fruity yeast aroma, with slightly grassy german-style hops. Malt-dominated, toasty flavour. Mouthfeel is full, but the finish is a little bland. Pretty good Kellerbier overall.
