The pleasure of yesteryear
Velvety matte shine – Smooth, full-bodied flavor
Munich Kellerbier Anno 1417 shines with a seductive golden honey color. A beer with a distinctive character: earthy, bold, quaffable and yet refreshingly mild and light. Just like a real Bavarian.

Creamy and effervescent, typical of unfiltered beers, a delightful ticklish mouthfeel. Aromas of caramel, honey and plum dominate and emphasize the beer’s malty, spicy flavor. Unmistakable hints of apple and grapefruit bring in a fruity freshness.

Our Munich Kellerbier, a beer like from the good old days when beer was born. After aging four weeks, it is bottled unfiltered, which still preserves all its yeast vitamins and trace elements.

Since 1417, Hacker Pschorr stands for traditional Bavarian brewing. The quality beers of Hacker-Pschorr are all brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law and contain only hops, malt and water. 12.5°

500ml bottle from Beerstore at O’Connor, East York, Ontario. 5.5% alc./vol. Pours a hazy dark gold colour with one finger of white head which quickly recedes to a ring shaped film. Hoppy aroma with a whiff of yeast. Taste matches aroma. Well balanced. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Hazy golden color, big white head. Solid retention. Aroma is veggy and corny, some maltiness and sweetness... Not really pleasant. Malty taste, overly sweet but relatively drinkable. Hay and honey notes. Light to medium body, average carbonation. Not good.

Let’s rate this compared with a near neighbour, such as a helles. It’s more orange and it’s cloudier. Body and carbonation are similarly soft. Bit more malt presence, definitely more hops bringing orange and grapefruit, and some powdered cinnamon. Not bad.

Hazy golden color, medium sized white head, aroma is malt and vegetables. Taste is, fortunately, not vegetables, maybe just a little bit of peas when it warms up. //billa

Cloudy, golden-orange color with a large, off-white, bubbly head of thick foam. It smelled of grains, bread and yeast. There was a touch of clove aroma, too. It tasted of sweet grains, bready notes, yeast and clove.A light bodied and very easy drinking beer.

Well, guess the local Billa stores have made it their mission to stock me up on missing Hacker Pschorr ratings. Yay. Misty golden-ochre body with a small white head. Vague slightly eggy, just slightly tart/funky aroma, malty/grainy. Mild, nice taste, with well integrated eggy/grainy maltiness inherent to the style. Not too rustic/excessive in that regard, well built really. Drinkable and likable if you dig that flavor profile, I don’t, really, not much, but I didn’t mind this.

Bottle in Belgrade. Slight have orange, smaller white head. Malty aroma, banana, honey. Light alcohol, a little flabby. Good dry lager notes. Solid.

Hazy yellow color, medium white head. Aroma of malt, wheat, citrus. Taste grain, malt, medium to full body, moderate carbonation. Medium bitterness and wheat in aftertaste. After this one, I won’t to try more kellerbiers.

Cerveja de corpo leve e textura macia. Presença de acidez e uma leve doçura no sabor. Retrogosto salgado e com amargor bem leve.

caramel, bread, grass, orange, hazy, minimal head, white foam, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, slick feel, average carbonation Hazy orange pour with medium white foam that lasts. Sweet bread aromas with light green hops. Taste grainy sweet with subtle bitterness. Slick mouth feel and a clean finish. Refreshing, but rather generic lager experience overall.
