japewang (42), USA May 19, 2007 Bottle. Gold/orange/copper. A bit too clear of a color. Sweet and malty aroma. Sweet flavor with caramel tones. Crisp and smooth finsh. Refreshing. Easy to drink.
oldbaldguy (11), , Minnesota, USA Oct 6, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours up nice and clear with a thick head. On the dark side for the style. Decent malt profile in the aroma with some fairly aggressive hopping for the style. Also get a slight mineral scent. Nice malt sweetness with some complexity with caramel notes the most powerful. Once again, bitterness is on the higher side for the style, but I find this ok. Seems to finish a bit thin. Overall, not bad, but there are better. AdamSkillin (368), High Bridge, New Jersey, USA Oct 6, 2008 A nice surprise at the terrible bar where they have 6 taps of American pee-water macros and 1 tap of potluck. Dry (I didn’t find it sour like some raters) with mild bitter finish, the color is on the reddish brown side for a German Oktoberfest. NobleSquirrel (683), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 5, 2008 Bottle. Aroma is typical amber lager notes of caramel, clean yeastiness with a touch of Hallertau. Kind of reminiscent of normal Sam Adams. Decent Oktoberfest, though far from the best. SHIG (1546), Oberoffligen, Germany Oct 5, 2008 Bottle Swing-top: Poured a clear brown with a off white head. Aroma is sweet toffee and malt. Taste is a sweet caramel with a roasted nut malt hint. ditmier (222), Boise, Idaho, USA Oct 5, 2008 2008 Bottle - Pours ambery orange with a large off white head...aroma is light malt and toffee, flavour is also light...not on par with the other marzens in my opinion, lacking depth...
