Pours a translucent golden/orange amber with a creamy off white head. Aroma was sweet and malty, some corn, dough, graines and cereal. Nutty with hints of caramel malt as well. Flavor was very clean and crisp, yet with lots of flavor. Grains, malty, hints of sweetness. Some caramel, toffee and nuts. This is how an Marzen should be!

(Draught at Man in the Moon, Stockholm, 18 Oct) Amber colour with rocky white head. Malty, nutty nose with caramel and toffee. Malty taste with toffee, caramel, dried apricots and raisins. Toasty notes and moderately bitter finish. Fairly nice but almost too much caramel.

had this on tap. poured dark amber and had a small thin head. a little hint of pear, and flowery yet a small bit of caramel to the fragrance. Smooth beer, not much aftertaste. was not bitter to me at all.

12oz bottles. Great festival beer. Pours dark reddish amber. small white head. aromas of carmel malts and hops. small bodied overall refreshingly balanced flavor of malts and hops with hints of cloves and citrus. Very traditonal marzen, one of my favorites.

(Bottled) Deep, dark amber color with a very small head. Caramely-malty aroma with some diacetyl. Caramely-malty flavor with buttery diacetyl. Light to medium-bodied palate with balanced carbonation. A quite enjoyable märzen, if one doesn’t mind the diacetyl.

Another nice Hacker Pschorr beer. Dark amber colored beer with an off white head. Flavor of roasted malt and caramel. A bit sweeter than I remember in years past.

Light orange colored, medium sized yellow head. Aroma is good with caramel, hops, some bockish spices and mild chocolate. Medium bodied. Flavor is also fine with hops, caramel, some bitterness, chocolate and berries, mild alcohol there too. Aftertaste dries with some caramel.
