Jun 5, 2006 This one didn’t do much for me within the style. Poured with a better head than some of the others of its class and with the normal amber-orange color. The aroma was somewhat caramel-like and malty. The flavor featured caramel malts, low roastedness (I would have liked more), even some grassiness (which I’m not a fan of). For an original German, not overly impressive. Too sweet and nothing to help balance it out. I’d drink it again, but I’d certainly choose a few others over this one, which is surprising #3 on the site (within style) as of today.

May 30, 2006 5 liter keg can. Pours amber\copper with a decent sized off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts, citrus, and yeast. Flavor is a full bodied malty delight, caramel malts, mildly carbonated, yeast, citrus. Good brew.

May 8, 2006 Updated: Sep 23, 2007Pours a beautiful copper color w/ a modest head that degenerates quickly to a skimpy, thin ring. Aromas of stewed veggies and sweet malts spew forward. Medum nectar w/ mellow residual effers. The texture is thin and soft. Big fruity malts, w/ said stewed veggies and herbs. The finish is bttered gently and leaves a lingering malty sweetness to ponder.

Apr 28, 2006 "not sure why this is so highly rated, kind of ho hum for me. Poued a nice amber color with a nice head to it. Aroma was carmel malts. Flavor was fmalty and raosted flavor a grass after taste to it which i didn’t expect. Mouthfeel was okay refreshing but flavor killded this one.

Apr 5, 2006 Poured the color of maple syrup with no head. The aroma was sweet and malty and resembled a dopplebock. Flavor was sweet malts, carmel, bread, and some hops and yeast. Kind of had a barleywine taste to it. Finish was fairly spicey with a little kick to it.

Apr 1, 2006 Whats to say? Its a pretty decent Oktoberfest. Comes in the bigger 500ml bombers, and is pretty amiable all around.

Mar 22, 2006 Pours red amber with breif off-white head. Strong aroma of roasted caramel malts and yeast. Flavor is of malt with a mild yeast presence. Personally I prefer Paulaner.

Mar 7, 2006 A mid orange-copper brown coloured beerwith a thick white head. A strong aroma of malt and caramel with a yeasty element, slightly soapy. The beer is fizzy on the mouth. Yeasty flavour with malt and some sweetened fruit, like ripe bananas. The finish is fizzy yet sweet and malty. Bottle - purchased from the Beers of Europe.
