imdownthepub (5087), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Apr 8, 2009 Bottled, swing top, 500ml from Westholme Stores, Goring on Thames, Oxon. Copper with white head. I really quite enjoyed this marzen, fruity full bodied, soft and pulpy in character, some caramel without getting dry, a little sweetish, but not much in the way of hops. Quite reasonable. jbuzz (658), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Apr 2, 2009 Pretty basic marzen. Medium body with average carbonation and no very outstanding flavors. smith4498 (822), Miami, Florida, USA Mar 23, 2009 Draft @ Abbey Brewing Company. Pours clear copper color with of white ehad. Caramel malt aroma. Caramel flavor with a slight hoppiness and nuttiness. Medium body with average carbonation. auderale (572), Fairchild AFB, Washington, USA Mar 1, 2009 Bottle: Amber colored pour with medium sized head. Nutty, malty, caramel nose. Malty, spicy, toffee caramel taste. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Jan 30, 2009 Amber orange color with an all right head. Malty aroma and taste with nutty and caramel notes. Pretty true to style. Not bad but not great.
MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England Jan 28, 2009 A Mes rate. Bottle at Quinns. Bright amber gold with a decent white head. A typical ofest marzen is all I have in my notes. Strange thing is, light on the ground as my notes are, they probably do a thoroughly good job of describing this beer. I guess it’s better than writing cheese tits or something.... Earlier Rating: 12/14/2008 Total Score: 3.2 A Mes rate. Bottle at Quinns. Bright amber gold with a decent white head. Straight forward Marzen with plenty of bread and straw with a spritely finish with a faint bitterness. Straight forward and typical. Ober (1161), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands Jan 22, 2009 A clear amber colored beer with a foamy beige head. The aroma of malts with sweets of fruits and some honey. The taste of a little sweet caramel with some fruits with a little bitterness. A little dusty. The aftertaste is bittersweet in a customary way. CanIHave4Beers (833), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Jan 21, 2009 This is a fairly quintessential Oktoberfest, perhaps not the greatest example but certinally about as represenative and classic as it gets. Pours clear a deep orangeish red with not a lot of head. Smells roasty and autumnal with a touch of metallic copper. The flavor is sweet, a little nutty with a faint noble hop flavor, largley malty but one of the nicer super malty beers I have had certinally some caramel flavor here.
