Great example of the style! Great color, nice head, fine balance! I always anticipate the Fall season with several of these at hand! A solid choice!

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle shared at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. As "Hacker-Pschorr Original Oktoberfest Amber Marzen". Clear amber. Aroma of malt, a bit of caramel and cardboard. Sweetish flavor with malt, a bit of caramel, a hint of toast, oxidation and a finish with a bitterish note. Light to medium-bodied. Best before 5/14, but not fresh enough.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
11.2 bottle shared with me at a family gathering. The pour is clear copper brown with a smallish light tan head. The aroma is softly sweet caramel malt, hint of grassy bitterness. The taste is mostly the sweet caramel malt, clean and decently fresh, followed up with the subdued dry grass bitterness, and a touch of chemical in the longish finish. The palate is light to medium bodied, softer carbonation and the somewhat dirty finish.

I love me some Oktoberfest beers and this one is not to be passed up. HP’s dunkel weiss remains my favorite offering from the classic brewery, but come September you should pick one of these up. Best with baked chicken and pretzels (duh).

Appearance superb. Great lacing - head retention a little disappointing (may be glass). A very enjoyable beer - a beer that you could have more than one.

On tap at Beer Revolution and at the Celtic Knot. Clear golden coloured pour with a bubbly white head. Aroma has a hint of malty sweetness, and a bold earthy hop aroma. Medium carbonation. Bubbly, dry mouthfeel, medium-bodied. Light bitterness in the finish, quite smooth. Excellent brew.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Brown in color and somewhat light body, this beer is rather lively and fizzy but the head is gone almost immediately. Smell metal to me, and the finish is bitter but gives away as soon as I chew some lightly salted peanuts. Again, I have high expectation for this beer. However, it ends up being a watered down version of ale to me.
