Light toasty malt aroma. Cleat copper color. Earthy malt flavor sweetness approaching wheat beers, though not spicy in that way. Crisp, easy drinking body, nice and refreshing. Above average marzen beer, even amongst Bavarian examples.

Really solid. Super malty, essence of a fall day with leaves and grains. October gold. High carbonation, which is perfect for this style. Surly Fest might be more up my hop-loving alley, but this is the quintessential Oktoberfest-from-a-bottle-on-a-crisp-fall-day.

Bottle as "Original Oktoberfest". Pours a clear copper-amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, caramel and hops. Light to medium body with flavors of toasted malt, grassy hops and caramel. The finish is sweet with a bready malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft at landmark. Pours clear amber with a medium sized white head. The aroma is classic toasted malt with a side of biscuit. The taste is bready, sweet, easy to drink. Classic for the style.

On tap at Lunar Brewing Co. as a 17 oz. serving dispensed to a tall, HB lager glass, showing a clear, coppery amber color, with a very persistent layer of billowy, soft white foam, and wavy cling to the lacing. The nose was light grain, soft malt, some toastiness, a touch of sweetness, maybe a slight hint of fruit, but no noticeable caramel, which is inappropriate for the style anyway. Light to medium bodied, with decent carbonation, a low hop bitterness, and clean finish. Of all the Marzens that I’ve sampled this season, this is one of the lighter versions of the style, but no less quaffable, and very sessionable.
