2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 QXSTER199 (9) - Murrysville, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 30, 2001Thin malt and a metallic aftertaste made this beer a least favorite Octoberfest for me.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Albundy94 (15) - Paris, FRANCE - MAR 9, 2013
1 year old 500 ml bottle from Munich, Germany. Poors an copper/browny clear with a quite thin white bubbly head. Aroma is sweet caramel, bread, cereal, with a pretty good lightly bitter aftertaste. Alcohol isn’t too present, and its light body but rich malty aroma makes an easy to drink beer. I enjoyed and recommand it!

12 ounce bottle. Bright amber orange color topped by a large off-white bubbly white head that dissipates quickly. Sweet toasted malt aroma with a hint of caramel and floral hops. Flavor upfront is toasted malt with notes of caramel and baked bread. Light spicy hops in mid taste balance this somewhat. This beer has lost some complexity in recent years but still remains a very nice example of a quality Bavarian Oktoberfest Marzen.
4.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 NonOperational (10) - ENGLAND - FEB 2, 2013
One of the nicest beers I’ve ever had. A soft, richly malty, perfect amber lager that lasted about 2 minutes in my glass.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 shadey (1756) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 30, 2013
12oz bottle. Pours a light orange-amber with a thin head of tight white bubbles. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, and yeasty dough. Mouthfeel is light and initially a bit watery, however it starts to feel more substantial after the swallow. Flavors include the lightly bitter hops among the sweet malts. Very easy to drink.

This darker amber Oktoberfest pours and smells great. It goes down quite smoothly and leaves a mild after taste. A very good beer for the price and a good way to kick off October.
