Aroma is sweet caramel and malt. Flavor is sweet like a dopplebock, but the weight is lighter than the aforementioned style. Heavy tones of sugar, mollasses, and malt, with a nice cotton candy finish. Palate is smooth and coating. This is a great beer, one that I hope to have over and over again. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 5, 2007 Draught. Clear copper with a medium off-white head. Fruity, nutty, slightly roasted aroma, with some herbal hops. Medium bodied with smooth mouthfeel. Great balannce; some initial malt sweetness followed by a gentle earthy bitteress. Oktoberfest does not get any better than this. dkachur (2440), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Pours a Pours a clear brown tinted copper color with a thin frothy offwhite head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma of toasted grains, raisin, citrus, caramel. Very, very faint hoppy note. Taste is caramel and toasted malts, some raisins. Slight bready. Softly carbonated, medium bodied. Good beer. Drew (2410), Kent, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 29, 2004 This brew has a great palate - creamy smooth, small bubbles of carbonation make it seem thicker than it actually is. Taste is caramel sweet - but not overly so, an obvious hop balance helping out here. eaglefan538 (2405), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 5, 2006 This one didn’t do much for me within the style. Poured with a better head than some of the others of its class and with the normal amber-orange color. The aroma was somewhat caramel-like and malty. The flavor featured caramel malts, low roastedness (I would have liked more), even some grassiness (which I’m not a fan of). For an original German, not overly impressive. Too sweet and nothing to help balance it out. I’d drink it again, but I’d certainly choose a few others over this one, which is surprising #3 on the site (within style) as of today.
