Strong presence of hops make it crisp, dry and refreshing with almost a Pilsener-like finish. Kind of mild compared to other Oktoberfest brews I’ve had, but a great brew all the same. Sweet aroma over a nice dark amber color. Yeastiness in the tongue counters the sweetness of the malts and then along comes a great hopped finish. Perfect for the style. scraff (1955), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 8, 2006 Clear orange, creamy off white head. Nose held notes of toasted toffee chips, with soft touches of dark fruit, grains, biscuit. Upon warming, just a faint herbal tone appears too. Authentic German flavors that remain toasty, lightly bready, with faint raisin tones. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, drying toasty finish. Not a favorite style, but this was quite nice... mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA

It was not as good as it usually is. <b> nice beer this time around. Bottle. Malty and hoppy. Well balanced. <b> Had this again last night. Very nice. Bottle at the Goldhawk in Hoboken. Clean tasting. Malty and caramel flavor. Hoppy notes. Very drinkable. WabashMan (817), Noblesville, Indiana, USA

Nose is malty, delicious, and superb! The flavor is nice as well, with a very nice malt character, but can't quite live up to the nose. However, this is a great Oktober...very well crafted! carboloader (330), Houston, Texas, USA

Aroma is sweet malts, apples, and pears. Flavor is the same with very little carbonation and a smooth finish. A delicious Oktoberfest with a good alcohol kick. A little too syrupy sweet for me, but seems true to the style. Slight metallic taste. Quite tasty overall. antisnobJP (275), St. Michael, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 25, 2005 Bottle. Deep amber with a creamy white head. Creamy moderate fine-bubbled carbonation. Toasty toffee malt aroma with a little sweet and sour quality to it. Flavors are as advertised with a clean noble hop bitterness to help balance out the sweetness. Goes down soooo easy. Feels good in the mouth, and makes you want to keep drinking it. Eventually, it will force you to stop-face down usually. ontario102 (794), Boise, Idaho, USA
