The beer pours a perspicuous burnished copper color, the head mountainous in size, spumescent in texture, the color a beauteous light tan and as it disjoins the lace forms a concealing sheet upon the glass. The aroma of sweet malted grain greets you first, then a bit of molasses, crisp and clean, a treat for the eyes and the nose, start is quite sweet, thickly malt with the top middling in its feel to the palate. Finish is lenient in its acidity, the hops pleasantly mild in their spiciness, dry and lingering aftertaste, quite a quaffable brew tis’ true.

Deep amber hue. Roasted malt aromas follow through with nice caramel malt flavors and some fruity notes. Finishes with more malt flavors, and a touch of dry herbal bitterness for balance.

deep golden/bronze, foamy off-white head (didnt last that long), slight malt in the nose, but the malt pretty much explodes in your mouth. slightly bready/yeasty but not overly sweet. re-rate: amber color, excellent eggshell white head. aroma is definitely loaded with yeast and bready qualities. hops only slightly detectable in the finish. lots of caramel in the flavor...sweet.

Of all the Munich Oktoberfest beers I like this one the best. Very drinkable with a nice toasty character from the full flavored malts used to make it. It is a bit lighter in body than a few of the others, which isn’t a bad thing if you are gulping down a liter or two. It isn’t the most flavorful, but it is the most drinkable.

Deep copper color with a brown sugar aroma. Brown sugar comes through in the taste as well. Decent dose of hops on the finish. Some hints of chocolate as well.

On tap @ The Abbot on the Hill. Aroma of nicely toasted malt,a light fruitiness, like freshly peeled apple skins, copper, small cream head, pretty lace. Taste is lovely roasted malt, caramel, flavour of pitfruits, woody, nutty notes too. Medium bodied, beautiful balance, wonderful mouthfeel. Splendid, an absolutely fine example. Ein Prosit! Kudos to The Abbot, first in Canada with this on tap!

Nice mix of bitter and sweet with a good aftertaste. The wheat flavor stands out and is very smooth to drink.

Swing top bottle. Bought at De Man van Drank Leiden. One month past best before date. Amber color, dense head. Pear and just a touch of dust in the aroma. Malty but vinous beer. Raisin and hops in the background, even a touch of cinnamon. Butterscotch and some bitterness in the aftertaste. (6 3 6 2 11 = 2.8) A fresh sample bought in Nordhorn was much better. Loads of malt and toffee in the aroma. Medium to full bodied. malty sweet flavor, bready, cake, pear. Grassy hopbitterness in the aftertaste. Lovely well balanced beer.
