Drinkable but unremarkable dark Oktoberfest brewed for the US market. Unclean hops ruin an otherwise decent affair.

Tap at Republic Seven Corners. Half liter glass to further the German Oktoberfest experience on a much smaller scale. Medium orange, copper. No finger head measurement necessary. There is none. Aroma is metallic and kind of offputting. Taste makes up for it slightly pushing its malty, biscuity agenda. It has a certain level of crispness that’s welcomed but unfortunately the taste cannot overcome the aroma. It’s probably one of the better Oktoberfest options in its prime but this one falls short of greatness in the style.

Amber color, the head is short with large bubbles. Fades quickly. Malty aroma is strong, bready, biscuity. Taste is malty and chewy. Smooth drink. Decent brew. Great German bier!

There is a yeasty taste that does not appeal to me in this Marzen that I have never tasted before...but otherwise an enjoyable brew for eating a good meal of steak

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2006 Nice flavor. Caramel, honey. Very good. I enjoyed this one. 7-4-6-4-15 Rerate December 15, 2006: Poured light amber with a medium sized off white head. Well balanced hops and malt. Not very sweet which is a plus for me. I don’t know where the caramel/honey flavor came from in my first rating of this but it’s not present in this bottle. Slight bitter metallic finish.

Nice clear brown-copper color. Little or no head. Malty aroma and flavor with an average body that could be a little better. Okay for a fairly available beer, but I much prefer Paulaner’s Oktoberfest. I think the reviewers below who described it as metallic definitely got a bad bottles, and I would encourage them to try it again.

Amber coloured with a sweet but not sickly taste. The head dissapeared quickly and there was little aftertaste. Not so much body as some other Marzens but overall not a bad drink.

Orange color with a medium sized tan head. Malty scent. A nice caramel taste is there, but has an awful metallic aftertaste behind it, spoiling an otherwise very nice beer.
