Lively brew, with a hint of smoke.

Good consistent head, rich amber color, definate caramel taste with subtle Hallertau spiciness. The few I had left a metallic aftertaste that has been noted by others. Not sure if its the batch I got, but its the reason this beer is not a 4.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2004 Re-rate: Too sweet. Overrated. Nice, but not quite as deep as other Oktoberfests. Worth a try in the fall months.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2003 This beer gets 5 when viewed in the glass; great amber color and a thick head that won't quit. When drank, it moves down to a 3, because of the old/dulled flavor of its seasonings. I've never been a big fan of Oktoberfest beers anyway, so I'll pass this one up in the future.

Aroma of corn syrup and sugar, with a smooth palate and mild yeast and malt tastes. Overall has a nice sweet texture.

This beer had a sort of blood or metallic like hint of a taste I couldn't quite taste and seemed to disappeared as I drank more. This is an OK beer, and good to try once, but there is not distinguishing or special about it and I would not get it again.

A pleasant beer. Poured a dark amber with a beige head. aroma revealed some malt, caramel, molasses, and a whiff of smoke. Mouthfeel was unremarkable. Watery. SLight carbonation. The flavor was decent. Had a nice maltiness and sweet candy essense with that subtle touch of smoke. Not bad.

Bottle pours a vibrant orange, small white head that quickly dies down to a thin film, so-so lacing, with light carbonation.   Sweet grass and oats on the nose.   Malts and light nuts on the tongue.   Light body, very little mouthfeel.   Finishes quick, with only a trace of sweet malts.   A very light & boring Oktoberfest.
