Pours hazy golden/amber with a foamy off-white head. Sweetish aroma with notes of malts, yeast, dough and fruits. Taste is quite similar, smooth and sweetish, but there is bitter herbal notes too. Not bad. (0,5l swing-top bottle, bb 01/16)

Ambar oscura, entre hefe y dunkel. Espuma típica. Aroma plátano. Buena textura, cremosa y agradable. Rico sabor, donde mantiene el plátano, junto con rica malta, equilibrando bien dulce, y toque espaciado y amargo. Al calentarse se refuerza también un tono más agrio, ligero. En cualquier caso, buena jefe.

12.5% ABV A natural hefeweissbeir from a small brewery that’s been acquired by Paulaner. Nice yeast nose, very formic. Then there is the dimension of wet wool but a little more subtle, there are hints of red dates and wolfberry. Very balanced mouthfeel. Few beers are this balanced on first impression. If I didn’t know better, I might even describe this as being bland or uninteresting, but wait a while and allow this crafty brew to bloom on the palate a little bit more and you start to get honey and smoked bacon, ok so I change my mind and it’s feeling more like Chinese New Year afterall and this is reminding me of minced meat bakkwa. A very cunning brew this is and not as simple as you think it might be. You get an aged oaky flavor. Nearer the end you get leather and a nice hint of walnut skins full of ancient woody, nuttty flavors. Color is interesting, like burnt honey; an inviting 20ºSRM. Goes on my favorites list. Not boring at all.

Taste is similar, fruity flavors not overwhelming, very well balanced. Medium body, smooth texture, lively carbonation. Excellent.
