3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500 ml bottle. 339. BB 04/06/2013. From bierundbier.de.
At least there is some fun in naming the beers. This is the final leg of my Hacklberg journey today. Humorator sounds very promising. Clear dark amber colour with a small off-white head. Malt, and lots of it, mild chocolate, nuts, dryness and on the other hand some sweetness too in the aroma. The flavour is very malty (as you can expect from a Doppelbock). Mild bitterness, peanuts, mild bitterness and sweetness. Iím not 100% sure if I like this. Iím not huge fan of Doppelbocks (or Bocks in general) so this is quite challenging for me... The alcohol is quite well hidden thatís nice. Otherwise this is quite ordinary Doppelbock. Thatís it.

Aroma is a bit light with berries, some malty notes. Flavour is rather malty with woody notes, some berries and hints of bread. Some malty sweetness, yet balanced. Nice, the berry notes get stronger towards the end of the glass though.

Draft at Monks. Dark brown pour. Impressive large foamy tan head. Fluffy chocolate caramel flavors. Tootsie Rolls. Not overly complex dopplebock but very drinkable.
