COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beer for the 5. Season in Bavaria. Dark like a double Doppelbock must be and aromatically malty as it has always brewed. A enjoyable strong beer.

Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 22, 2011
10/10/11/11/11/11

(bottle) Clear, dark amber colour with a big beige foamy head. Sweet roast-malty aroma with earthy notes, caramel, a tinge of candy and traces of alcohol. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Rich toast-malty taste with caramel bread crusts, Blockmalz and much of residual sweetness; Sweet and toast-malty finish with caramel in the aftertaste. A tad too sweet Doppelbock (15.VII.09).

Bottle, 7.0%. Malty aroma, slightly farty, reminding me a bit of Weizenbock. Clear dark amber colour. Small tight tan head. The flavour has some vinous notes, a bit fat yeastiness. Quite sweet flavour, OK balanced with alcohol. Not bad, but the fat yeast flavour is a bit off-putting.
