1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 25, 2010
A Mes rate: Cask at the Market (No) Porter. Clean gold with a thin white head. One of the most offensive smelling cask ales I’ve had in quite a while. Diacetyl, pig farm and a really raw hit of hay. It’s like being in a barn, and not in a good way. Tastes almost identical, except there is some corn added. Rather a lot of corn. Big meaty hit also. Seems to me that this was brewed with roast beef Monster Munch. Awful. The worst cask ale I’ve had for a long time.
