Strong sparkler white foam covers the golden body veiled by a light haze. Well hopped this! Highly flowery, lightly lemony and brightly extracted. Firm bitterness in the finish. Really drinkable, but perhaps a bit too grainy in its maltiness that does not really follow any other discipline. I found it to be a very impressive and tasty low ABV ale, perhaps one of the nicest cask ale I’ve had in Scotland and I’m afraid to say that unsurprisingly, it is not Scottish.

Cask at The Cask and Barrel, Edinburgh. A golden beer with a thin dense lazing off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of caramel - and so is the flavor.

Sigmund (3713) - Hafrsfjord, NORWAY - AUG 30, 2007
Cask conditioned at The Cask & Barrel, Edinburgh. Served too warm. Amber colour, creamy head. Very nice aroma of fruity and zesty hops, hints of blackcurrants and maybe some balsamic vinegar. The flavour did not take advantage of the beer being served too warm. Biscuity flavour with tolerable hops, but not very exciting.

Aroma is honey sweetness off the malt and grassy and trying to be peppery hops. Taste is similar again the hops are trying but not coming through.
