2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - DEC 29, 2011
First tasted this at the Boswell Hotel in April 1991. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale garnet in colour with a creamy white head. Slight hint of malt in the thin aroma. Watery mouthfeel and good lacing. Weak pale malt base gives a mild digestive biscuit flavour with redcurrant fruit. Tannin note present in the bitter aftertaste. Finish is weak and watery. A poor effort and one to miss from the portfolio.
