Dark, rich and full-bodied slightly roasted with a malty palate ending with a pleasant bitterness. A new brew for this old favourite.

Cask at The Bishops Mill (JDW), £2.05/pint Pours dark ruby amber with thick, fluffy, white head. There’s a pleasant aroma of corn and tropical fruit. Flavour has an interesting caramel malt and tropical fruit combination to produce a rich, rather milky, sweet palate though which some grassy dryness to the finish. I didn’t really enjoy this one.

Cask. Dark brown with a thick cream top. Nose is lemony and has a bit of malty dryness. Taste is surprising. Lemons and a light burnt toffee. Surprisingly bitter too. Finish is long and bitter.
