Few pints at the Crown and Anchor on Holy Island. Dark ruby brown with a thin white collar. Fruit and nut toffee aroma. Pleasant toffee flavour, floral soapiness. Chewy texture, low carbonation. A ruminative beer, perfectly suited to the surroundings

On cask @ Carters Bar. Appearance - amber/red with a decent head. Nose - toffee, some biscuits. Taste - same again. Overall - one of the many bitters that taste like this - toffee and biscuits with a slightly astringent finish. A decent session beer but nothing special.
