Bottle, from trade with Papsoe. A dense, two-finger off-white head sits on top of a lightly unclear golden body. Peaches, grapefruit, pine cones and a faint cat pee touch in the aroma. The flavor is quite sweetish and pale maltyness. Fruity hop flavor, lacking a bit on bitterness. Medium body, pleasant carbonation and a finish with citrus, peaches and some bitterness. A decent attempt on a pale ale, but quite far from top notch. 120516

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 lethe (176) - New York, USA - APR 20, 2012
Pours a very hazy pale yellow. Looks like a Pilsner or a Landbier, but the nose dispels that with way more notes of hoppy grassiness in standards of those styles. Fair amount of body to the palate and low carbonation. Flavor is very nice and is most reminiscent of a U.S. harvest ale: grassy, herbal notes and healthy dose of bitterness. Some citrus flavors as well, but mainly bitterness and grass. This is really nice and a great single hop from a German brewer. If this was a little stronger and a little hoppier it would make a great IPA. One of the best hoppy German pale ales I’ve had.
