Death Metal Beerfest June ’07. Shared with Bartzilla, WeeHeavySD, and others. Dark brown with not a lot of head. Rich and complex. the wood was very present, but not overwelming. sweet with plenty of alcohol kick.

Don’t know that I can say it any better than WeeHeavySD or Bartzilla; this was the star of our merry drunken afternoon. Oak was definitely prominent, but the mouthfeel was velvety smooth and rich. This beer is crazy complex and each drink renders some new flavor. Awesome.

Beer 13 of Bartzilla’s Death Metal Beer Tasting 6/30/07. Shared with Bartzilla, Naven, BikesandBeer and others. Via trade with Batkins. Bartzilla said it pretty damn well this is a fucking crazy beer. 1.5L bottle after a really sour batch 58 of regular Adam. Pours dark brown witha bubbly head. Aroma is sweet and strong. The taste is amazing and hard to describe. Bryan PH Pinhead said it "tastes like a tootsie roll soaked in Kahlua." This was so so so amazingly good, and really tastes stronger than 10% a big sipper and fucking great to share.

1.5 ltr bottle thanks to Alan. Sampled at the Hard Liver Tasting, poured into a Snifter glass. Pours a murky brownish black with no head. A very complex aroma with hints of wood, dark fruits, and heavy dark malts. The flavor is also deeply complex bringing out the normal Adam flavors of dark fruits, leather and tobacco, figs, prunes, and then complex it further with an oaked wood sense and peat, deepening the flavor into one very thick and rich brew. Thanks again to Alan from Hair of the Dog for bringing this fantastic brew. (And a correction on the aging - it was aged for 8 years, bottle aged for 2 years.)

A murky black beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of wood and over ripe fruit. The flavor is acidic malty with notes of over ripe fruit, prunes, and oil.
