4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at the STUFFED SANDWICH. Being that I’ve been bored with most "imperial" beers lately, I found AFTW to be quite a nice treat. The complexity of Adam was definitely subdued as a result of the barrel aging, but the vanilla/caramel/oaky sweetness that replaced it was quite tasty. I still prefer regular old Adam, but I really enjoyed the opportunity to give AFTW a try. I especially liked the alcohol presence, not hot what soever but warming enough to know that it was a big beer. Labeled as 12% ABV at SS.

Way to expensive, but besides that, this one is one to really enjoy. What a nice full taste, so much going on in every drop of this brew.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Dark brown color with basically no head. Aroma is intense on dried fruits, mostly figs and plums, with a fortified wine character. Taste is also very fruit forward, sweet but not cloying, syrupy, sticky, woody, intense and complex. Body is heavy, almost flat, a bit boozy as well. Feels like a liquor. Complex taste and aroma but feels too boozy and flat to be up there with the best of the style.
