Butt ugly dull tan from the cask. Very sweet, but for alcohol in the finish. The balance in this is just off.

On tap at Hair of the Dog. Clear yellow pour with a white head. Big malty notes with caramel highlights. Hands down the best Lager I have ever had. Fantastic body and mouthfeel.

On tap. A: Cloudy orange with a thin white head. N: Pine, pineapple, biscuit, toffee, caramel, grain, some orange syrup. T: Very sweet with a huge alcohol. M: Sticky, medium heavy. O: I’ve never understood the point of a 9% pale lager. This doesn’t change my mind.

On tap at hotd. Colour...slightly hazy gold with a thin off white head. Nose...quite malty and lightly citrusy with some spent grain and stone fruits. Palate...dry, lightly tart and somewhat cloying, with a a crisp tang and burnt toast flavour. There’s a biscuit like flavour mid palate as well as toasted malt and singed Malt-O-Meal. Some dried fruits enter the picture towards the back and then a dry, oaky flavour hits at the lengthy, spicy finish.

Tap @ HotD... Poured hazy, pale orange with a bright white head. Nice lacing. Definitely a sweet lager, but some balance by the earthy, resinous Amarillo hops. Some bread-like malts too. Could be dangerous at 9% with only a minor alcohol presence. Clean, but still a yeast presence similar to many HotD beers, despite being a lager.

On tap at HOTD. Pours a clear yellow color with a large white head. A nice mellow Pils malt nose with some light fruit. The flavor is mild heat, a bit of sweet hops, more pils malt, a bit of sweeter malts almost like corn. Very clean and tasty.

On tap at Fredfest 2014. Pours golden with a decent off-white head and a light floral aroma. There is a medium-bodied pale malt flavor with a firmly bitter finish.
