Bottle from mcberko, thanks matt! Pours a hazy orange with no head. Aroma is citrusy hops with some wood and floral aroma as well. Taste matches aroma with a bit of bitterness as well.

Fall 2012 bottle from trade with michaelinwa. Pours a cloudy light pale yellow color with a decent head that fades quickly. Looks more like a pilsner than an IPA really. Amazing aroma of pineapple, grapefruit, pine, spruce, spicy rye, hop resin, oranges, pilsner malt, and even cherries. My mouth is watering. Taste is just as good as the aroma. I taste something different on each sip. Very fruity, lots of pineapple, grapefruit, and oranges. Moderate bitterness and pilsner malt helps to tame the juicy fruit taste. Finish is spicy with pine, spruce, and flowers. The tropical fruit taste is still there too. Medium body and slightly oily mouthfeel. Amazing DIPA. Hair of the Dog is slowly becoming my favorite west coast brewery. And this beer is now my favorite DIPA, tied with Heady Topper.

Medium body. Drinkable rounded ipa. Bitter end. T - simple ipa up front. Grapefruit and piney hops. Dried apricot with strong sulfur dioxide. Lingering caramel malts. O - good but simplistic ipa. 3.4 ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours hazy yellow gold with a small off white head that laces well. Faint pine aroma. Flavor is very resinous, a bit floral, light bready sweetness, a touch of spicy rye, and a light bitterness lingering through the finish. Flavor its quite nice, i just wish the aroma was a bit more

Bottle labeled Fall 2012 so it should be fresh. But the bottle seems undercarbonated and there is very little head or liveliness to it. It’s a very murky yellow. The aroma is a powerful sweet tropical fruit blast with a little wheat. The flavor is of sweet orange juice but intensely bitter with grapefruit and hop acid notes--and an herbal yeasty end. The body is oily with barely there carbonation....it’s a little dead. I think I may have been unlucky with this bottle but it shows a lot of promise.

Bottle delivers a murky gold hue with a fairly quickly receding white head. Nose finds a piney citrus and sweet maltyness, hints of brown sugar and spice. The Mouth finds flavors of biter maltyness, spicy hops with a hint of piney notes. The Finish; I find the balance very palatable, more flavors come out as the beer warms. Very nice beer, it’s what I would expect from Hair of the Dog!

Tap at Hair Of The Dog, Portland - 06/11/12. Opaque pineapple juice yellow with a thin white head that soon clears to the edge. Pine, bitter grapefruit and citrus on the nose. Taste of Pine, hops and bitter grapefruit. Medium bodied with soft carbonation leading to a bitter dry finish. Good tackle.

Big time citrus/pineapple scents, has a cloudy lemonade look. Taste is similar, big time citrus flavors, crisp.

22 oz bottle served in a NB globe glass. Spring 2012 vintage. A: Pours a hazy orange color with a bubbly white head with a meringue-like thickness to it. Sticky sheets of lace are left down the glass. S: Pine and grapefruit ring bitterness with some doughy malts in the finish. Slight citrus zest, but it is a little faded. T: Much maltier than the nose suggests. Creamy pale and white bread malt flavors that come off as very sweet. There is a slight herbal background bitterness with some grapefruit peel and mild pine to round it out. M: Medium to light bodied with a clean finish. Average carbonation. O: Definitely on the maltier side of DIPA’s. Surprising light and drinkable though for how malty the nose was. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 08-27-2012

Bottle thanks to Fitz! Pours a very light pale orange nearly yellow with a small white head. Aroma is tropical fruit punch type of note, some grassiness with a light piney note and some sweet citrus. Flavor follows suit with a big tropical note followed by orange juicy notes, a little bit of sunny D in there. Lemon zest and light to moderately bitter finish. Medium body and a crisp carbonation. Very refreshing DIPA, though it barely counts at 7 percent. Could drink it all day
