It pours a golden orange color in the glass with a nice head. The aroma has a big citrus wallop like grapefruit and some pine. Taste is more citrus with lemon and grapefruit. There is a big bitter hop bite with some mild malts. Also some fresh grass. As it warmed it became even better.

Danker DIPA. Resiny nose nice solid malt core. Bitter piney finish. Good but not a bit too resinous for me to be a favorite.

Bottle shared at a local tasting, thanks Josh! Pours a really pale gold with no head at all, doesn’t look like anything special but the taste really makes up for it. The aroma has a great amount of hops and citrus, the flavor also has a ton of citrus, slight malt flavor as well, mixes in perfectly, nice mouthfeel, pretty good stuff.

Bottle from 16 Tons Taphouse, Eugene. Pours a slightly cloudy golden orange, minimal head. Aroma is slightly citrusy, maybe some pineapple notes in there, definitely leaning sweeter. Rye malt, maybe? Thinner body, but not lively. Finish is effing massive, rolling waves of citrus zest and a little bit of sweetness. One of my all-time favorites.

650ml bottle. Pale gold pour. This is practically near pnw ipa perfection. Citrus, pine, herbal, rye. It is super dry, medium to high bitterness. Godly.

Bomber from Belmont Station. Nice amber body with slight tan head. Nose is plenty of hops, pine and citrus. The taste is more of the same with bitter notes. Also nice malt and caramel flavours throughout. Really well done.

Hazy, unfiltered golden color, with a pale, light green hue and minimal head. Delicate floral and honey nuances, mix with hints of fresh herbs in the aroma. Bitter, fresh hops dominate the palate, with layers of earthy, dank herb, bitter grapefruit zest, and honeyed florals. Light, refreshing and balanced. Great mouthfeel. Finish is full of fresh, earthy, bitter hops. A classic DIPA. Has a home brewed feel to it that is hard to come by these days. A must try. --- tasted while on a long journey to understand the world around me...

I had no idea how much I had taken for granted HOTD until I moved to Chicago from Northern California. Such a great brewery and one that forces me to get one of their beers leading up to last call at Urge Gastropub. Light honey colored pour. Minimal white head. Nose is citrus, pine, and apricot. Taste is resinous up front followed by tropical fruit hops. Malty enough to give body but hoppy for sure. Old school, too, before DIPA meant 10%+. Well crafted and yummy.

On tap at Hair Of The Dog. Pours a very cloudy brown color on tap. Very different to the bottle version. Great hop balance.

On draught at Hair of the Dog. An intriguing greyish golden color. Smells of grassy and citrusy hops. Hops come through first on the palate, with a spicy citrus sweetness at the end. One of my favorite double IPAs.

Bomber pours a great looking pale amber color with a thin but lasting cream colored head. Nose of pine, resin, and citrus notes. Taste is bitter, but more balanced than most mind erasing DIPAs. Solid malt body provides ample structure. Citrus on the finish. A drinkable DIPA... But really should be considered just an IPA.
