UPDATED: JUL 27, 2011 My favorite IPA, so yes, I have to give this a 5. There is something special about this one. It pours almost a brilliant, hazy orange, practically glows. Nice hop aroma; as good as you’ll find. I guess what I really like about this beer is that the hop character is not so much bitterness, but a complex, citrusy, flavor that just makes me want to pick up the glass for another mouthful of one of the most satisfying and unique IPAs out there. It’s hard to compare this to anything else I’ve tasted, but maybe you could think of it as similar to a Port Brewing Mongo IPA, but less bitter, with a little more complexity to the hop flavor. The brewer really knocked this one out of the park, and I’m glad I stumbled onto this fantastic beer.

This was brilliant. Malty front end with a dry finish. Loads of apricot, grasses, citrus. right in my wheelhouse. Sludge that needed shaken up at the bottom... mmmm... sludge.

I had this at HotD. Allen’s OBF Friday get together. Holy Sh*t! Hop Monster. Great hop bitterness. If you are one of these Belguim wussies... don’t go here. Golden in color. Bought a whole case to bring back to Atl.

Tasted this one over 20 times at the Alvinne festival !!! soo good ! Thanks Alan for bringing this one !!
Head: white, creamy
Colour: opaque orangy/yellowish
Smell: floral, citric/lemongrass, lychee, fruity , reminds me of a fresh thaï salad :p
Taste: floral with bitter hopy start, fruits, yeast, bitter undernote fresh fruity end , aftertaste is lime and freshmown grass, very nice

This is good because it’s so well balance , right amount of hops , right amount of bitterness , and really fresh in flavour , also the alcohol volume is amazing , and proves that not all double ipa’s have to be +10% in alcohol with only hops in the flavour , superb !!!

Bottle, fall 2007. Aroma of delectable grapefruit and the freshest green melon scent I’ve ever smelled, from beer or fruit. Huge rich rye and caramel malt there in perfect balance, and by balance I mean that both the hoppy and malty aspects shine in bursting glory without subduing each other. Flavor is the same, and that is a very good thing. Not a hint of astringency, mouthfeel both incredibly rich from the malt and airy and juicy from the hops. Fantastic.

Local for me, and available seasonally on the shelves, this is one of my favorite DIPAs hands down. Intensely aromatic with citrus, grapefruit, pine, hop resin and just straight up juiciness. Lots of malt flavor with a bit of spice and hop bitterness. This is deliciously mouth watering and quenching. Drinks very easily. Great mouthfeel and aftertaste. Can’t stop drinking this!

A hop lover’s dream! Pours a cloudy apricot in color with a nice white head. Citric nose all the way. Incredibly juicy orange flavor - like a hop explosion. Rich and creamy mouthfeel with some aspirin at the finish (the only negative). Very tasty. Thanks Jamie!

On tap at HDG. Gold in color with a nice thick white head. Citrusy hoppy aroma. Fruity notes. Apricot and pineapple. Hoppy flavor. Citrusy hops. Not too sweet. Finish is dry. Medium bodied. Well balanced. Smooth. Very nice beer.
