4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 MartinT (6350) - Montreal, - SEP 25, 2006
UPDATED: APR 23, 2012 Any first impressions?
-A veil of foam shields the hazy, honeyed gold.
-Confident pineapple esters coagulate into a unique fruity honey which lets itself be penetrated by some agile piney hops.
-Sandy hoppiness lays a dry foundation on the tongue for the haystacks to sit; fruity cereal is abundant.
-The soft yet expansive effervescence is typical of Hair of the Dog, particularly when paired with their usual creamy maltiness.
What if you dig deeper?
-The herbal, peppery hop bitterness, apart from being flavorful, is certainly intriguing.
-Biscuity maltiness is a great companion to the idiosyncratic hop selection.
-I probably wouldn’t have called an Imperial IPA, but if you know and like the vivid, bright personality of Alan Sprints’ gambrinal creations, you will be seduced once again by this one.
Bottles and on tap at Siboire, in Sherbrooke.

Poured from a 22 ounce bottle. A great DIPA. Huge hop presence, citrus, floral. Not much in the way of grassy or pine/resin characters. One of three best DIPAs I have had.
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 julian (8) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 30, 2012 does not count
Local for me, and available seasonally on the shelves, this is one of my favorite DIPAs hands down. Intensely aromatic with citrus, grapefruit, pine, hop resin and just straight up juiciness. Lots of malt flavor with a bit of spice and hop bitterness. This is deliciously mouth watering and quenching. Drinks very easily. Great mouthfeel and aftertaste. Can’t stop drinking this!

Light amber to orangish cloudy pour. Aromas of a citrus, with some rye notes. Very nice flavor with the rye prominent and the citrus popping through. Overall, this is a damn good beer with tons of flavor and well balanced.

Amber orange pour with lots of lasting white head. Big time hop aromas - citrus and pine. Flavor has a good amount of malt making this quite balanced - bready malt and more citrus.
