Pours a bright hazy golden orange with very little head. Retention and lacing are minimal. Smell of citrus explodes out of the bottle when the cap is popped. Orange, lemon, and grapefruit all over the place with a light, sweet malt aroma as well, but it’s really a citrus hop sensory assault. Taste is of citrus hops as well, but with less aggression than the aroma. Mainly grapefruit in the taste this time with a little more bready malt sweetness than the smell as well. I finally got a little pine bitterness in the finish, but this one was on the sweeter side of DIPAs. Mouthfeel is light to medium with strong carbonation. Very smooth and sweet and doesn’t have the over-the-top bitterness that I often get in West Coast DIPAs. This one is uber drinkable, especially as the weather warms up. It’s not nearly as intense as many DIPAs but that smooth taste makes it all the more drinkable.

does not count  Jul 8, 2008 Had 22oz bottle poured in chilled pint glass @ Lucky Baldwins, Pasadena CA. Very aromatic. Cloudy when poured producing a small head. Straightforward double IPA..."Malty, Hoppy, Tasty, Good" as the label goes. Actually very hoppy but not overwhelming with a dry bitter aftertaste that hits back of palate just right. Quality Double IPA.

Aroma is citrus/fruity hops. Taste is maltier then I expected. Not that biitter compared to most DIPA’s. I would not guess 100 IBU’s. Lots of grapefruit. Smooth and tasty just different. Low carbonation and medium texture. Good brew just not great. Thanks E!

Jul 6, 2008 The IIPA thing again: can appreciate it, can’t love it. This was a very live bottle from Pure Luck in Dirty Hollywood. Nowhere near the orange juiciness and smooth finish of Dreadnaught; this is bottled bitter. Wasn’t too cold, so that may have contributed.

Jul 3, 2008 Yellow to golden in color with a thin white head. The nose was filled with tons of mixed citrus followed by some herbs and a touch of caramel malt. In the mouth it is medium-bodied with balancing malt in the mid-palate and a nice dry finish.

Jul 1, 2008 Very hazy and almost muddy looking. I got a green apple with caramel and covered with hop pellets. Very smooth and milky palate with some sweetness.
Nice and low alcohol keeps the flavors very present. Resiny aftertaste with lots of earthy tones.
