From bottle : Pours a hazy apricot color with a little head that dies fast, but leaves pretty good lacing. Hard core nose of citrus hops, enough to knock ya back into your seat (if your not already there), with maybe a little hint of alcohol. Taste is much less intense then the smell, though still good. All kinda hop presence, with citrus being domanite. Bitterness kicks in toward the end, but still leaves a good aftertaste in the mouth. Sticky feel on the palate with a medium body. Pretty freakin good if i do say so myself....and i do.

Was hoping to find Adam or Fred on tap while in Portland, but Henry’s only had Blue Dot. I hadn’t read anything about it, but decided to give it a shot. The snifter was an oddity, but everything else about the beer was fantastic. If this is only the 8th or 9th best beer from Hair of the Dog, they’re doing quite well!

Bomber. Thanks to kegbear for this one. Pours hazy golden orange with thick white head. Big aroma of floral hops, citrus and sweet malt. Flavor is sweet and citrusy. Flavor is hops, grapefruit, lemon. pine and sweet malt. Not very balance and was kink of messy in away. The hops and malt didn’t mesh very well. I had this right after RR Blind Pig and before RR Pliney the Elder which was a bad place for this beer to be.

Appearance is a cloudy orange hue, minimal white lacing dissipates to a thin ring, fair light lacing. Smell is mostly lighter hops, mostly citrus and pine, grassy floral tones peak through, sweet fruits, chalk, and slight alcohol. Taste is mostly bitter and sour grapefruit hops, fleshed out by tones of pine resin, sweet orange, and floral/grass essence, some sweet malts in the middle and a bitter dry finish. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied, watery creamy texture lacks some of the resin characteristic of this style, mild carbonation. Drinkability is high, I would be hesitant to consider this a true DIPA, the 7%abv and relatively moderate hop profile is more reminiscent of a IPA or 1.5IPA, this is very easy-to-drink hop treat that is lacking in any exciting flavors but is nonetheless a solid offering from Portland.

Pours hazy light orange with white head. Light citrus hop aroma overpowered by sweet maltiness. Flavor is a nice balance between bitter citrus hops and sweet malts. Medium body with low carbonation and a syrupy mouthfeel. Ver nice. Definately for those who like a sweeter, maltier DIPA.

Cool bottle. Nice hazy orange pour with obvious piney citrusy scents to be smelled, along with tangy, toasted aromas of orange, grapefruit, canned pineapple and applesauce. Nice biting hops bitterness taste, with the hops being the predominant presence; yet it ramains balanced and quenching due to a subtle and worthy malt balancing act. This presents a complex flavor profile with an enjoyable drinkability. Very nice indeed.
