4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Hair of the Dog, pours an opaque dark mahogany with almost no head. Aroma brings out lots of cherries, red wine notes, some balsamic and moderate acidity. Flavour is hugely complex, with a wonderful integration of the cherries with perfume, red wine barrels and balsamic. Intense, but not abrasive, despite a bit of a burn on the finish - very warming. Excellent.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
15cl taster at Borefts Bier Festival, Bodegraven (as brandy cherry Michael). Deep ruby red colour, cloudy, no head. Porto tones dominate the nose. Taste is big on porto too, but nicely balancing the cherry, sour and sweet malty Flemish red tones; lightly bitter, some vanilla cask-ness. Lingering fruity, oak aged finish, with a nice alcoholic warmth. Big body, low-no carbonation. Very complex.

Ow, I did not like this one at all. I can imagine some will love this sour brew, but I had problems to even finish it while seeing so many more tastefull brews passing by.
