On draught at Hair of the Dog. Deep black cherry color, with amber hues. Aroma is cherry, oak, red wine tannins. Taste is funky sour brown, pie cherries, black cherries, and red wine. A little harsh bitter note at end, but doesn’t detract much.

Tap at Hair of the Dog, Portland. Colour is deep dark red with very small white head. Aromas and flavours: Berries, hints of sourness, sweetness, cherries. Also some elements of red wine and reminds me of krieks.

On tap at HOTD 20th anniv. Colour...quite cloudy with ruby hues and no head. Nose...very cherry and almost like Kool Aid but not in a bad way! Palate... A lot going on here with the different cherry flavours! And then there’s shifts between sweet and mouth puckering sour. The general lean is to the fruit but sometimes there’s a lot more than just cherry and the funky bits add yet another dimension. This Michael is a hard one to pin down but out of its chaos comes order.

On tap at the 20th Anniversary event. Cheers! I really liked this, and I liked Michael as well. Pours a dark ruddy color with a small white head. A huge nose of sour lacto and sawdust with vibrant cherries. The flavor is similar mirroring some Kriek lambics with big sourness, sweet brown malts, a bit of sugar, big tart and sweet dark cherries. Very damn good. Lovely really, quite soft but flavorful.

Tap taster at brewery. Opaque red. Aroma of sour tart LOL taste is super powered young cherry, and liquid tree bark essence.

UPDATED: NOV 12, 2013 Tap @ HotD’s 20th Anniversary Party... Poured deep, reddish, cloudy, with little, to no head. Nice dryness and yeast musk here with some malt sugars and a nice, vibrant cherry tone with a bit of sourness. Vinous and oaky which added complexity. Pretty nice upgrade to Michael.
