The bottle should have rested for a day or so before opening it. Lots of barley and dry fruity hops in aroma. Flavour is very ridh malty and hoppy in a great balance. Malty heavy barley malt aroma with some alcohol notes. Flavor pretty alcohol dominated hoppy but also with some sweet and fruity notes. Low carbonation. Short aftertaste. Complex and well balanced. Smells of caramel. Quite sweet with lots of toffee aromas. Also aromas of raisins and prunes. Also a faint touch of citric hopsaromas. Full body. Medium carbonation. Slightly sticky mouthfeel. Aroma was floral, hoppy, citrus, and sweet. Taste was very smooth and creamy, with floral and citrus hops. Finished very nice and enjoyed very much. A nice barley wine.
