12 oz bottle from Walt from 2/2009. Should have drank this years ago but was waiting for a special occasion. Nose is toffee, prunes and a little vanilla. Clear rust with a small, lightly lacing beige head. Flavor is lightly oxidized with toffee and a light bitterness. Must have been really awesome when it was fresh!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
2001 Magnum poured into my hair of the dog tulip. I found this magnum a week ago while cleaning out my cellar. I had completely forgotten about this! This one was over the hill by a few years. This one thinned out too much. The malts were still there in the aroma and flavor accompanied by a vinous cardboard note. Bummer.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle, 2002 vintage, from Brouwers. Pours a clear amber with a white head. Smells of prune, flowers, orange peel vanilla and a hint of spice. Tastes of an exquisitely forward-hopped prune and cherry, with a medium sweetness counter. Texture is syrupy. Full bodied. Medium carbonation. Finishes with a beautiful spice bouquet. This has aged very well, and I’m happy to have had the opportunity.

3 liter bottle
Aroma: caramel, toffee, oxidization
Taste: toffee, caramel, nutty, vinous
A great beer at ten years old. It would not have held up much longer as there was already signs of oxidization.
