Sample at Indy tasting Dick’s 96th - Aroma is strong alcohol, bourbon, oak, and yeast. Pours cloudy orange with small head and good lacing. Flavor matches aroma but a little too much oak for me. Some age would do nicely. Palate is tart. Very nice and I would really like one for my cellar...please.

Glowing light brown body. Nice looking off white head. Bit of herbs, fresh hops, but mostly a big aromatic aged wood fruit body. Warming ending. Concentrated goodness. Amazingly refined yet rich. World class. (ZeeBra)

35,5 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Esplanadi. Rated on 02.05.2009
Aroma is sweetish with exotic fruits, some hops, oaky notes and grain. Flavour is sweet with lots of fruits, some raisins, caramel, oaky notes and vanilla. Palate is way too high on CO2. Otherwise rather nice stuff.

12 oz. bottle shared by DalzAle! Pours flat orange amber. Aroma is boozy sweet honey wood and caramel toffee. Taste is more of the same with an even better flavor that includes amazing sweet caramel wood faint smooth bourbon and candied sugar. Palate is full silky and finishes dry. Outstanding!

12oz bottle. Dark mahogany with no head and little evidence of carbonation. Vanilla, oak, caramelized brown sugar, alcohol, roasted malts, plum, prunes. Low carbonation, full body, sweet, lots of depth and smooth, some toffee, more dark fruit, alcohol is a little too prominent but very tasty nonetheless.

Huge thanks mfavoino for the beer. I shared this at the Star Wars tasting and we did a side by side with a batch 79 Fred. 2009 vintage served in a Deschutes snifter. A: Pours a hazy golden orange color with a thin white head forming on the pour. It recedes to an airy collar and leaves some whisps of lace on its way down. S: Fruity esters and sweet berry, Light, oaty malts and some freshly cut wood. T: Same as the nose, but much more vibrant berry sweetness and some mild fruit skins. More oaky as well. M: A little dryer than normal Fred, but still the normal light to medium body and a touch smooth than regular fred as well with a slightly lower carbonation level. O: The fresh oak flavors have held up remarkablely well and I like the added depth it gave to the flavor profile. A nice treat. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 08-15-2012

355 ml bottle courtesy of rlgk. Pours hazy reddish golden with a very thiny white head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, fruity and misty with sweet dark bread, moist wood, prunes, raisins, vanilla fudge, peat, figs, toffee, alcohol and port wine. Taste is slightly sweet, bitter, tiny sour and fruity with sweet bread, prunes, raisins, dates, vanilla fudge, alcohol, madeira wine, grass, lemon zest, peaches in sugar syrup and figs. Mouthfeel is round, tiny sticky sweet, slightly boozy and full bodied. Finish is sweet, tiny bitter and fruity with bread, moist wood, raisins, prunes, apricots and hints of madeira wine. Good but I feel I expected more.
