Same bottle as pictured. Poured light gold with small head that retained. Similar yeast flavours as in Adam. I liked this one a little better as it hd a lighter palate. I’d like to give this another try.

Nightcap at home served in a snifter. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a thick creamy white head. Had to let it settle for a bit before drinking it. Aroma is floral hops, honey, dark fruits, and sweet maltiness. Flavor is huge! Much of the same as the aroma, with loads of hops behind a heavy malt backbone. Nice sweetness in the forefront and bitter towards the finish.Great mouthfeel, very drinkable. HOTD is quickly becoming my favorite brewery :-) Outstanding!

Bottle. Hazy golden with a large, creamy white head leaving a lot of lacing. Aroma: pineapple juice, toffee, honey, light spiciness. Taste: large, sweet maltiness, licorice, dried fruit (perhaps apricot), pineapples, honey, candy, floral, medium bitter. Full-bodied, soft and moussy. Warming and tasty.

POurs hazy orange with a somewhat offwhite head. Aroma is earthyness, caramel, citrus and grassyness. Taste is sweet with the caramel and hops coming together nicely. The alcohol provides some warming on the finish, Medium to thick mouthfeel.

Reviewed from notes. Served in a snifter. The initial pour is a moderately-dark dark with a bit of a reddish hue. The nose is quite nice, bringing forward some green apples, light hops, caramel, spice, and a bit of general malty sweetness. The taste mimics the nose to a large extent, though some of the darker, more fruity flavors take over just a bit. Mild green apple skin the background. Nice touch of caramel and light brown sugar. Good feel with a nice body and a hint of booze in the finish. Drinks quite well and is another solid brew from a brewery that just can’t seem to miss. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 11-13-2010

Clear (with sediment) gold pour with a thick, white, stiff head which fades slowly to leave a moderate, coarse lace. Nose is yeasty dough. Body is heavy and smooth, with a nutty, fruity, light sweetness that leads into a finish that is candy-sweet, alcoholic and citrus hoppy. This is more of a strong golden ale or even a tripel to me, so it’s difficult to compare to barleywines. Not a session beer, or even a regular selection, but great for special occasions and group tastings.

Bottle, tfs Vaiz! Aroma is very fruity hoppy, smooth malty note. Flavour is quite sweet at first, then a load of different hops, then back to sugar followed by alcohol. Then spicy hops. Awesome.

Bottle at home. Slightly hazy golden pour, thick creamy white head. Aroma of floral hops, some pine, German pilsener hops, fruits and more hops. Flavor is very very intense, loads of hops, very thick malt backbone, sweet and bitter in an extremely nice balance. Hugely thick body, great mouthfeel. Amazing brew.
