HonkeyBra (1266), Lemont, Illinois, USA Jan 10, 2009 Pours a hazy golden color with big white head. Aroma is strong, of rye and toasty malts, big citrusy hops, and lots of fruits: mango, melon, orange, tangerine, and big sweetness. Flavor is the fruitiest, most delicious hops. Lots of sweet, fruity malts. Some spices. Delicious. Awesome beer. Slayer85 (582), Firenze, Italy Jan 9, 2009 Bottle, batch 65. A hazy pale amber beer with many and big sediments, with a huge, compact and persistent beige head. The aroma is strong, quite malty (caramel, toated malts), and hoppy (grapefruit, resin) with notes of sugar, dark fruits, alcohol and vinous hints. The flavour is very sweet at the beginning, then you are hit by the citric hops. Again very sugary and fruity. The mouthfeel is lightly abrasive, though not excessively. Medium to full body, average to lively carbonation, long finish with medium lingering bitterness. Good, but not totally my beer. markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA Jan 5, 2009 Thanks to the group at the OTH for sharing this beer. She pours a golden color with notes of apple, sour, vinegar, malt, and some fruitiness- almost sugariness to it. Flavor is apple, malt, caramel, cinnamon, and spice. some sweetness, very little hop bitterness. Very good, but not what I expected. Dogbrick (2813), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jan 5, 2009 Batch 71 bottle from South Bay Drug in Imperial Beach, CA. The beer pours a mostly clear amber-orange color with a thin off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Nice bouquet of aromas from floral hops and caramel malt to charred marshmallow and fruit. Rich velvety mouthfeel with flavors of sweet malts and fruits, floral hops and the charred sugar you get on crème brulée. The alcohol is warming but well-masked. Finishes sweet and malty with notes of spice and hops. Very good overall. JaBier (1130), Capital City, Ohio, USA Jan 5, 2009 Bottle. Pours orangy amber with a minimal head. Malty aroma with some alcohol. Some alcohol in the flavor with malty sweetness and a hoppy finish. Not a big b-wine fan, but this one is tasty. craftbeerdesign (731), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Dec 31, 2008 bottle. pours a deep orange with a quarter inch white head... beautiful aroma of sugar, hops and light fruits. medium body with apricot, light bitterness and a nice robust body on the tip of the palate. soft on the sides and a solid finish where a touch of alcohol and a good amount of fruit and hops top it off. mspindler (301), Alta Loma, California, USA Dec 27, 2008 12 oz. bottle, batch 70. Large off-white head, good lacing, clear golden. Bright hops and bubblegum yeast nose. Smells like candy. Taste is sweet fruit, mostly pineapple and some floral hops. Light alcohol and some honeysuckle. Starts sweet and finishes bitter. Surprisingly clean. Somewhat heavy on the palate and well carbonated. A unique, surprising beer. ditmier (1020), Boise, Idaho, USA Dec 25, 2008 2008 Bottle - Pours rich yellow with a massive white head...aroma is sweet and fruity...flavour is a complex blend of burnt sugar, hop resin, tropical fruits...there is a bitterness on the end that I know is subdued in an older bottle, I just love HOTD brews...
