Pours hazy, ultra dark amber with tons of carbonation. Smells prunes and barley wine. Tastes like a smooth innertube ride down flavor river. Great mouth feel, but weird aftertaste.

Bottle in a trade with asteele8. Hazy amber pour under a big creamy beige head that slowly settles to a 1/4" cap leaving nice lace. Wonderful fruity aroma initially, followed by orange peel and spruce. Light, fine carbonation matches nicely with a medium/full body and slightly sticky mouthfeel. Cosidrable caramel sweetness in the first wave, followed by a tangy bitterness that brings on a satisfying dry finish. There are a lot of subtleties here, simply wonderful.

Bottle: Pours a dark golden / copper color with a massive beige head that lasts and lasts. Sticky lacing. Nose of citrus fruits and caramel. Taste of citrus, raison, yeast, and some hops. Hops are more dominant in the trailer. Rich body. Reminded me of an merican strong ale more than a barley wine... Still very tasty.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Clear, dark amber golden with a small, off-white head. Distinct and fat hop aroma. Very solid body with lots of caramel malt, fruitiness and a shipload of aroma hops. Somewhat medicinal accents. Hoppy, bitter finish. Courtesy of Storm. 120207 and 260708

Bottle. ( Thanks Marsiblursi ! ) Hazy orange with an off-white head. Malty, with caramel and apricot tones. Full bodied with some alcohol and bitterness in the finish.

Strong malt base with a full hop flavor backing it. Citrus and pine. Tastes like cookies, I have no idea what that’s all about, but it’s good. Not sticky, but nice and sweet. Can’t get any bitterness, but it must be there to balance the sweetness. Rreally reminds me of some sort of baked good. If not a cookie (or cookie dough) cake or some other sort of batter. OK, there’s a bit of bitterness in the back. Creamy and smooth. I’m completely rambling, let’s just say it’s good.

12 oz bottle at Coles Barleywine Festival. One of the top brews I tasted, coming in second only to A Few Shillings More. Smooth, complex, wonderful taste without being syrupy. Hard not to love this beer. Highly recommended.
